Hi All,
Sorry I haven't been in touch all that often, i've been really busy with the practical end of my divorce, finding a job, reestablishing contacts, signing forms, unpacking, organizing the room i'm staying in, etc. And i've also been dealing with the emotional side of it too, and i'm the type who tends to withdraw a little during times of depression.
Anyway...for those of you who are wondering, I just wanted to give you an update on what's going on around here.
Since i've been home, i've reestablished contact with some of my old friends, filed papers for temporary medical aid, and other financial help, and then today, I Got a Job :) I'm going to be working in a photography studio in the Mall in my town. And due to some fab references, they are starting me out at 9.50 an hour (which is generally more than they pay starting). I'm currently classified as part time/seasonal. However, i'll be working almost full time hours. Until I get the full time status, and benefits, I should be able to keep the medical care I got from the state. 9.50 an hour, while a fairly good starting wage, especially for a job in the mall, doesn't come close to covering living expenses were I to move out of my parents house (here, a one room apartment runs about 800 a month!), but... who knows..if I can find a roommate or something, it may be easier. It's a starting point though. With part of my earnings, I intend to buy some stuff I need to do portfolio photography on the side, and hopefully have that as a second income. So ...things are starting to look up. I'm finally starting to feel as if I'll be able to get through this and be stronger for it, after all :) The people I'll be working for seem extremely nice...the manager has even volunteered to give me rides whenever I need them! So..I'm really happy about it. I start on Tuesday Morning, for training..so...keep your fingers crossed for me that things run smoothly, and that it's a job i'll have for as long as I need it (i.e, until I either find something better, or start my own business). :)
Thanks for all your thoughts, and good wishes!
