Friday lasted for 36 hours!!!

I woke up on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and proceeded with my night of work (I usually come home about 7:00 a.m and sleep till about noon on Saturdays) and instead of coming home and sleeping, I stayed up and cleaned my house a bit, did some dishes and then picked up my brother, sister-in-law, neice and my own three kids and brought them back home with me to prepare for our Solistice ritual. Most of you know Wyrdsister from her posts here at Mysticwicks. Well, I met her for the first time yesterday (turns out she lives just a hop skip and a jump from me!). I feel I have to credit, in some approximation, Mysticwicks, for bringing this wonderful soul into my life. (hehe, prepared to be embarrassed, A ;)) We all (and by all I mean my brother, his fiancee, daughter, my three kids, Wyrdsister and I) went to (and most of us participated in) a Druid Litha ritual. It was beautiful and empowering, and in my case, a little scary. Things happened that I never expected. Anyway, to make a long story short, we had a marvelous time! Much merriment was made (I got to taste meade for the first time...this could be baaaaad....I just LOVE the stuff! :D) and we left the Grove feeling exhausted and happy and I'm sure a myriad of other emotions. Wyrdsister and I came back to my place, put my kids to bed and talked about everything under the sun. We were going to call it a night at 10:00 but just could stop talking. I finally "kicked her out" at 2 a.m.! So, in front of all my friends here, thanks for the great day, Wyrd...one of the longest Fridays of my life turned out to be one of the best!

Merry Meet everyone, and a big WAVE! to Raevyn!

Hey, great synopsis of the day, Rae! Mind you, your day was infinitely longer than mine! :)

I have to say to everyone that if you meet anyone from Mysticwicks in person, I hope your experience was as good as mine! Raevyn Cigany (who's last name I now know how to pronounce ;)) was a wonderful hostess yesterday and we got along so famously! I truly feel the Goddess must have put us together, especially as we ended up living so close to each other! :) (that Goddess is a smart one, ain't she?)

The Litha circle we attended was the first Druid circle (or grove I should say) that either of us attended. I'd been interested in seeing a Druid ceremony ever since an old friend of mine decided he was going to finally take the plunge and join the ADF. (and if anyone knows how to pronounce the full ADF name, I'd most appreciate it! Twig, you out there? :))

So I just wanted to finally log in to day and let you know I had a wonderful time with Raevyn, and to say that I'm glad to hear you finally got some sleep and something to eat, girl!! :eek: :D Next time we hang out I'll make sure you have some chocolate-dipped strawberries (which were wonderful, btw)!

Have you been following the "MW meeting" threads that are at the top of the Just Talk category? I haven't as much lately, but I wonder if there are any gatherings in your area planned. Oh, and any more thought of going to Starwood? :)

It must have been the weekend for first timers and MEADE!!
We spent the weekend doing pretty much the same. Amazing the only difference was ours was not Druid but that did sound most interesting. Also it was my first public event I have always been solitary and I guess if they are all like this I would have to think twice about staying completely solitary!!

I could not have learned or enjoyed myself more! I did like wine but I am affraid that meade is not my drink I prefer tequilla, And once again Semele was right!!
