Ooh, this is maddening! Here I am reading MW's on my lunch break here at work, and I try to click on a few links, and I get some new error message that the site has been denied by company blocking software because the site is deemed to be under the topic of CULT!!!!
One of the sites was a tarot site!
PLEASE!!! Okay, people let's learn what a cult really is before we go around blocking websites.

...i'm sorry, but I find corporate (& xian) censorship humorous... doesn't mean I agree with it... they don't even know WHAT they are censoring, most of the time. How reactionary.

it's not all the companys fault. Most companys get another comapny to make a blocking software system for them, they then incorperate it into the network. It will search for keywords that will depict what it blocks. Say 'porn' will be blocked and 'death' will be blocked aswell as others that could be called cult which exist on this website. What isn't of the occult? Who can tell? Well I don't really know and care just as long as the goverment doesn't go near me and my shotgun.

Emerald Sky, [giggles], I know what you mean. I used to go on E-Witch Pagan Auction on my lunch hour from the office, and one day received a similar message on my computer at the office. Apparently, my office "cut me off." So now, I have a way to get into it by going to isome of the nternet companies that sell their goods on E-Witch. I just go to that website and then click on their "auctions" button and it brings me to E-Witch. :)

which just demonstrates the essential foolishness and futility of censorship and "bans". the first thing intelligent people do is sit down and figure out a way around them.

The biggest majority of them can and will and do ~ and sometimes the employees are the last to know. I used to work at an MCI call center, and they knew each and every keystroke we made trhough the day.

actually if you're using a computer at work i'd say you want to presume it's being monitored by the company and that it's not done in your interest.

Yes, I assume they are monitoring everyone's use of the internet here in the office. So, maybe I am not in the broomcloset after all. By now, they must know I am Pagan from all the different websites I visit. :D
