Do animals have spirits? If so, what happens to them when they die?

I know some chose to stay as guardians. I assume the others continue the circle.

I have meet some animal spirits. Some like to be guides, but most are reborn in other animals.

It is my belief that all thngs in nature, continue the unbroken circle of Birth, Life, Death and Re-birth.

There are other belief systems as in some Native American shamanic beliefs that the spriits of dead ancestors return in animals,(Totem animals). I'm not too well versed in the subject but there are plenty of sites on the subject if you need more info.
