Again, these were taken from the tarot study group on Moonsongs. (see part one for links).

THE GAMES

All of the "games" come from _Tarot Games_, of course.

1. SACRED CAVE - Any time you need to feel the arms of the Mother wrapped around you, you can play Sacred Cave. The Tarot will show you how to give yourself the nurturing you need.

---------------- 4
----------3------------5
----2-----------1------------6

Notes:
Cards 2 through 6 should be a rounded, "Cave" shape.

THE PLAY: Mix the cards face down and choose six cards at random. Arrange them in the pattern shown above to form your own Sacred Cave. Although all the cards in your Cave are valuable allies, Card 4 deserves special attention. It will help you to feel safe and protected.

CARD 1: Where I am now
CARD 2: Empowers me
CARD 3: Keeps me company
CARD 4: Shelters me
CARD 5: What I seek here
CARD 6: What I feel the need to create

2. FISH - This quick-and-easy game is deceptively simple. Fish packs a lot of information into a small packge, making Tarot wisdom accessible even to those of us who "never have time." It offers an at-a-glance reality check.

THE PLAY: Mix the cards and choose three at random, placing them face up in a line.

CARD 1: Worm - What I have to offer the universe at this time
CARD 2: What I catch from the cosmic pool
CARD 3: What I'll make of it.

3. BIRTHDAY GAME - As we get older, we need *more* celebration and magick around our birthdays rather than less! The Birthday Game is a way for adults to rediscover the joyful expectation and delight that children feel at their solar return. The next time you turn a year older, do something really nice for your own inner child and play this game.

THE PLAY: As you mix the deck, focus on the events of your life and your hopes for the future.

Now make a round, cake-shaped pile by placing one card face down for every year of your age - and one to grow on. There are seventy-eight cards in the deck, so if you're seventy-seven years old or older, congratulate yourself on your elder status and use the entire deck.

Hold your hands over the cake and make a wish. Now, blow on the cake - and turn one card face up. Either your wish may be granted immediately or the card will tell you what you need to resolve in order for the wish to materialize.

Happy Birthday!

4. PROSPERITY - The Prosperity game gives us useful information about the many levels of tangible reality, about the connections between bodily health, income, job/work, home - the entire material package. The game also shows us where we may have blocks and issues that keep us from creating the healthiest and most prosperous (in every sense) reality possible. When we
begin to question the true nature both of our needs and of our sense of abundance, we begin to unlock the meaning of the Pentacle cards - and of our own relationship to material reality.

THE PLAY: Mix the cards, face down, in a pile, and then choose four cards at random. You may play the cards in the order chosen, or you may pick the cards in your hand that seem most appropriate to each description below. Pay special attention to any Pentacle cards; since it is the suit that corresponds to the material world, these cards are the keys to this game.

CARD 1: The present state of my material reality
CARD 2: The source of my deprivation - what makes me feel needy
CARD 3: The source of my abundance - what makes me feel rich
CARD 4: What I need to do or embody in order to find my own true prosperity.

Working through this kind of information can be tremendously healing for all involved. As a final affirmation, you may wish to choose a card that depicts abundance and well-being and place it in the center of the playing space to share: "Give-aways" are a gesture of faith in the universe.

5. IRIS - Based on the natural cycle of bulb or seed, sprout, leaf, and flower, Iris is useful when you are considering a new project or course of action.

-----------4-----6

-------------\1\
Notes:
The 4-card should fan slightly to the top left; the 6-card should fan
slightly to the top right. Neither should actually touch the 5-card.

THE PLAY: Mix the cards face down, and then choose six cards at random. Lay them out in the above pattern.

CARD 1: Seed - The beginning or inception. Placed sideways, this card may be read upright or reversed.
CARD 2: Sprout - First stirrings. This card often gives useful
information on the proper nurturing of the idea or project.
CARD 3: Leaf and Stem - What is needed in order to grow and expand
CARDs 4, 5, and 6: Flower: What can be expected to manifest. Look closely at CARDs 2 and 3 if what you see here is not what you had hoped for.

6. MAGIC WAND - A wonderful game to play if you need to check your empowerment level. The suit of Wands relates to fire, drive, the power that comes from inner conviction. If you have been feeling lethargic, or you can't seem to get out of your own way, Magic Wand can show you where your energy is blocked and give you some ideas on how to recover your drive.

THE PLAY: Mix the cards, allowing them to absorb your personal energy. Place the deck face down in front of you and begin to turn over the cards, one at a time, until you find a Wand card. If you get a Wand within the first five cards, then your sense of personal power is strong and manifesting without significant blocks at this time. The Magic Wand card that appears can show you where you feel strongest. The preceding cards
give information on your sources of empowerment, and the ways you manifest it in the world.

If you turn over more than five cards before finding your Magic Wand, then look at the preceding cards to find insights about possible energy blocks, or for areas that need special attention.

If you are feeling unsure of your direction, Magic Wand may help you to determine the steps you need to take to regain your wholehearted power and will. It's good to remember that your choices - how you use your Magic Wand - are yours alone. All of us are magic wands, in the sense that we are channels for power and energy to be used for the good of all.

A FEW MORE FUN ACTIVITIES

These come from _Tarot for Every Day_:

1. BROOM - To help you sweep away the garbage

--------------------9

--------------------8

--------------------7

-----------------4--5--6

------------\1\-----\2\-----\3\

Notes:
Cards 4, 5 and 6 need to be angled out slightly, like the bristles of a broom. Cards 1, 2 and 3 are laid sideways and read either upright or reversed.

First, mix the cards face down as you concentrate on doing a little spring-cleaning in your life. Now turn over eight cards and place them in the pattern above.
CARDs 1, 2 and 3: These are the dust, the stuff you are working to get rid of.
CARDs 4, 5 and 6: These are the broom bristles, or the ideas you need to apply in order to make your clean sweep. These may identify issue you need to work on before you'll have an effective broom.
CARDs 7, 8 and 9: This is the handle, or what you need to know in order to get a grip on your situation.

2. WITCH's HAT - Put this on when you need to feel empowered (feel free to cackle as you do this spread <G>).

------------------------5
----------------------4 3
----------------\2\-------------\1\

Notes:
The bottoms of Cards 3 and 4 should angle outward slightly, forming a cone. Cards 1 and 2 are placed sideways and may be read upright or reversed.

Mix the cards face down and choose five at random, placing them face up in the pattern above.

CARDs 1 and 2: The brim of your hat, these cards will give you information on what you need in order to take flight, to send your energy out.
CARDs 3 and 4: The Cone; the sides of your hat that lead up to the point, these cards tell you where your power lies or what to do in order to feel strong
CARD 5: The Point; what you need to send out into the universe, or where you've been aiming. If you don't like the look of this card, examine the others for ways to change it.

3. NEW MOON - To see how things may grow and develop

-------------1
---------------2
----------------3
---------------4
-------------5

Notes:
The cards should form a crescent, new moon shape.

Mix the cards face down, and choose five at random, and lay them face up in the New Moon shape
CARD 1: Began it
CARD 2: Shaped it
CARD 3: At the center of it
CARD 4: Needed by it
CARD 5: Where it is going

4. OPEN BOOK - To see your life in clear perspective

This quick and deceptively simple little activity give you an
at-a-glance reality check, illustrations of different aspects of your life that give you the power to see yourself and your current situation objectively.
Mix the cards face down, then gather them back into a neat
conventional deck: this is your book. Close your eyes and concentrate on one particular chapter of your life. Now open your "book" at random to see the illustration that goes along with this chapter, issue or situation. You may repeat this exercise as many times as you wish.

Thanks again AR they are all really good excercises and seem great fun. Im not sure about all the 'game' references ~ just from a personal prospective that I believe the cards should never be 'played' with but then again, I really like these excercises and its allot more fun and light to word them as games.
:D Thanks again they are all great!

I suggest that you read the intro in Part 1.... it goes over why it's okay to play "games" with your cards, etc. Of course, if you're still not comfortable doing that, then don't. :)

Thats what I meant!! :) I just seem to be getting my words all tied up these days!
This is a great quote ~ thanks for pointing it out to me :)
"Far from trivializing the magick of the cards, Circle (Tarot)
Games are based on the idea that play can be sacred and
meaningful, that the deepest wisdom can be discovered through
laughter and shared enjoyment. One of the most important things we have found in teaching and playing these games is that deep seriousness and an impish sense of fun can coexist
beautifully."

Thanks for posting these, and bumping them up since I missed 'em earlier. My friend is coming to have lunch with me tomorrow for her birthday, and I will get out the cards so we can do the birthday cake layout. Yay.
