:D Hiya....:p
I kinda between self teaching ((by books and gut feelings of course)
and asking around online.
Ok. I go to book stores a lot. :) And I try to find books on the Craft. And some I'm kinda iffy about...
Anyone recommend some good books lately oooor offer some help?? If so..I'd LOVE it!!!!

To the Craft.
Many young Wiccans - and I do not mean age but rather newness to this path - tend to jump into the Craft with both feet. I would suggest starting with the concepts of Paganism prior to The Craft. Try Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland, it offers a good guidline on Paganism as well as The Craft.
Blessings,

I'm not really jumping INTO wicca with both feet..
more or less..like..
dipping the tip of my foot in..slowly getting in..
because I've been reading and reading and reading on it for almost 4 years now...;)
its just I live in a small town..
and our bookstores are basically..((our bookstore has like...4 selves..thats our store...yippee))
"Hi...do you have any books on...wicca and so forth?"
"*long stare*
"I...take that as a no?"
"*Stares*
"*raises eyebrow*"
"*cough* Yes..of....course...."
I get directed over to the sections and all the book stuff is in the Satanist junk..
so mmmyeah.....see my lil' dilima??..i hate villages...

MM to all of you too!! Pardon my rudeness..((been a hard day))
but yeah
I do look online. I find a lot of great books. I've ordered some actually.
But sometimes the problem is. :D trust lil me with a credit card??? (pah!) I plan on never getting my own when I am out in the 'real world'. I think I'd be in some big trouble if I turn out like my mother. With my own money..and my future husband would probably not be to happy..hehe..lol
But thank you all for your help. ;)

Spiral Dance by Starhawk is an excellent book. Did you try your local library?

Ooh, yeah, another Michigander!!! :) You mentioned a "village"... do you mind if I ask where you live? I'm in Dansville, which is a village, and yeah, I know what you mean about the libraray! LOL. Dansville is 20 miles SE of Lansing. If you're anywhere near there, there are some nice new age stores around and some larger book stores. Welcome! :D

I'm right near Michigan Speedway. Like...right..next to it. In Brooklyn.
Our library consists of ppl donating books like :Romance novels, little kid books..and so forth. Sweet idea and I've donated a few myself. But we don't get much when it comes to my topics. 8O
I've written down all the books you all have said. Thanks much again! Now..if only i can get to the 'city' to get these books....ah..my life..gotta love it...tee-hee

From your post I gather you are under 18 years old. Legally, we adults can't teach or tell you anything that goes against your parents wishes........ It would mean big trouble for the owners of the board and us personally..........Sorry sweetie.........
