Ok,
I have a problem. My Garage is haunted :hairraise
I've always sensed that there is something not right in my garage, and havn't felt very comfortable, but a few days ago i went in there ot put some clothes in the dryer and i was overwhelmed with fear and ickyness  i just felt horrible, i can't explain how awful it was, and i knew the door was going to slamm shut behind me as soon as i walked in there, and gess what, it did and the feeling got much much worse, to the point where i started to cry  I was so shocked at myself, nothing was wrong with me. The door could of been the wind, so i put my clothes in the dryer and went back out, and instantly i felt so much better, i could breath properly and everything, it was great, i was on top of the wprld, how odd, oh and not a breath of wind anywhere!
Ok so i told my Wiccan teacher about this and she told me i definatly need to clean my garage in that case, but for some reason i have been putting it off, maybe because i'm too scared to go in there, and maybe because i dont want my neighbour to see me wandering around my garage chanting and blowing smoke and salt water everywhere :geez: or maybe for another reason?
Ok last night i had a dream about bats flying out of my garage and i know bats in a dream represent evil, negativity ect, it's not a good thing, and for them to be flying out of my garage!!!! I told my teacher this too and again she told me i definatly need to clean it out.
Will me just burning frankinsence in my oil burner and saying nothing be enough to clean it out?

I would think you need some intent behind the cleansing - a passive incense burning wouldn't be enough.

I suggest going into the garage, but keeping the door to the house propped open with something heavy that won't move. Smudge the corners, state (out loud or at least mentally vocalize) that you do not permit evil/malign/unpleasant presences in your home and evirons and then sprinkle salt along the doorway and any window sills - and then open the garage door (since you're worried about your neighbours ;) )

Then leave the incense burning to rid it of any residuals.

Good luck and bright blessings :huddle:

Thank you,
The garage is at the back of my backyard, it's not actually part of the house. :(
I dont have a smudging thing though :(
And the only herbs i have on hand is Lavender, jasmin, mint, chives and watercress. I have a few diff oils though.
I was thinking, maybe if i mentally made my intent very clear and what the oils burning is meant to do?
I dont realy want to go in there, it's not so bad when i roll up both roller doors and open all three windows in there though, but it doesn't actually get rid of them, cos when it's closed up, the icky comes back

I think the intent is the major thing. So perhaps if you charge the oils strongly with intent just outside the door of the garage and then set it inside, it will clear enough that you'll feel safe enough to go inside and spread some lavender and salt?

Best of luck!

My suggestion would be to *start* by carrying an open bowl of vinegar into the garage and leaving it out in the open for no less than 6 hours (and any more than 24 hours is probably unnecessary). The acid fumes should disperse the negative ethereal energy (the stuff that's causing your fear reaction) in that time enough so you can work a full cleansing without being distracted. Even fully armed in the Armor of the Goddess, it'll be tough to walk into that place with a clear mind if the ick is in full strength.

Once you're in there and the ick is at bay, I'd suggest a full cleansing ritual. Putting up a protective circle and calling guardians should be the first thing you do. If this is an active ick, it might get a bit testy that you're trying to kick it out.

The ritual itself is entirely up to you, there are a thousand ways to do it, but I'd suggest beginning with a thorough smudging with a bundle of white sage.

You could also prepare an herbal concoction I use for tough cleansings. Really more of an elixer, but do NOT take it internally. Heh. Take a quantity of cold, blessed water and add sea salt (Kosher salt might work better, since it's been blessed too, but I've never tried it myself), one teaspoon of cayanne pepper (per cup or so), and a few leaves of sweet basil. Together they represent four elements of cleansing (with the basil being air for the moment.. and basil is more about "protection" than "cleansing", but it's nice to have extra protection around. The other correspondences: pepper - fire, water - water, salt - earth, all of them cleansing). I also add a few drops of vanilla extract, but I have no idea why and can't come up with any information to support the use of vanilla in these circumstances, so YMMV.

Anyway, a bit of this poured around the perimeter (or just in the corners) can definitely help loosen up some crud.
