Another site about the map- this one has lots of detail.

As with any controversy, we have to weigh the different pieces of evidence, and decide what is most likely, while remaining open to new developments. As such, other information probably should be looking into as well in addition to these two websites.

If you're really interested in the Piri Re'is map, a good book is Charles Hapgood's Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings. Also Graham Hancock deals with it in his book, Fingerprints of the Gods, and incidently refrences Charles Hapgood among others.
