Okay I'm having a bit of a problem. I have looked through over 500 different threads in searches and whatnot and still cant find anything really helpfull. Does anyone actually practice anytype or fae/fairy tradition? I really want to know what types of fae practice there are..
I know for some people its more about the elements and surroundings along with the fairies, or that some people are completely focused only on the help from fairy familiares... i really just wish there was some kinda school around here that i could go to..I wanna learn everything I can about all of this..rituals to meet fae, how to tell them apart heh the list doesn't end. can anyone give me a lil help?

I don't have much knowledge on the subject, just that not all Fae are nice and cuddly. They vary just as everything else does.

Have you tried a search of the whole forum?
Also, try a search on About.com, or a major search engine, using all the various spellings of Fae that you know of.
Here are a couple of sites that I have bookmarked:

A very good book on the subject of faeries trads and the faeries themselves is A Witch's Guide to Faery Folk by Edain McCoy. It was very helpful to me.

I did search the entire forum, and I searched a few of the catagories or whatever seperately. I've looked at alot of sites online..all the ones linked in other threads and all. I haven't gotten to the book part yet though, no money and I still have like 10 books checked out from the library lol but I'm gettin there. Anyways I heard that there are some places online that have free classes on this kinda thing, anybody know about those?
Thanks again for the help

There's two good books on Fairies. One is called "The Real World of Fairies" I think is is by a person whose name is something like Dora Van Geldern. She could see them. Then there is another one called Faeries at Work and Play that describes them as real too. It's a small book with pictures of fairies on the cover that I got at a metaphysical bookstore years ago. It's good to spend time in the woods or beautiful gardens. If a place looks like fairies would be there, they are. They like certain people. If you really love nature and appreciate her respectfully, talking about the beauty of certain flowers for instance, they will appreciate this, as they handpaint the flowers and care for them. If you are noisy, in a rush and talking on a cell phone, then you won't stand much of a chance. Don't try to bother them or manipulate them. It's pretty much as you would think. If you sit in a magical looking clearning and appreciate it and be respectful and say, play an instrument (well) or ring a bell, they would probably come around. It's pretty much as you would assume.

As far as I know, the Feri tradition started by Victor Anderson held such beings in high esteem. Many practitioners of that trad. are also well informed regarding history and folklore.
There's a link about it on a thread right here--someone else had a similar question.

Um, I remember about a year ago I stumbled across this website that was about fae craft, but as I read into their beliefs I discovered it was mainly about sex. I don't think this is all fae traditions but just a fare warnign to watch out where you getting info off the web

A few kinds of faerie trads do have a lot to do with sex, but there are others that are mostly about nature and the spirits inhabiting it. You do bring up a good point though, turtlerain46.

haha I agree, very good point. I usually stray away from all the sexual stuff...it never made much sense to me.

I checked a site and the author of Faery Wicca is Kisma K. Stepanich. I don't know if anyone really cares, but now you know.

So I was looking at a bunch of websites and on one of them(I can't remember which one) I read a thing that said you know how sometimes youll be walking around and itll feel like theres a spider web on you and when you go to wipe it off theres nothing there...thats a faery brushing against you.
I was wonderin if anyone else has ever heard this or believes it.. I'm not so sure what to think on that one, but I get that feeling alot. Heh I'll start freakin out and be tryin to get it off my face and then theres no spider web, I always figured it to be my imagination.

Actually I get that feeling alot too... but I had never heard that as being the reason. Interesting theory though... :)

i'll look in my bookmarks, meantime, try typing in a search engine *tuatha dhe dannan* or *formor* or *formorians*.
there are various ways to spell these words, but the search engine should come up with something using the ones above.

I have had a number of fey associates. And a large number more on occasions when I was in a good location and had nummy booze. :smoke:
Yes they can be pranksters, most are in fact. Some are out and out malicious. They like me though.... lol.
As far as Fey Magic, I have never practiced. If they're around and want to help, they will. I've been wanting to study, but don't see it as an urgent thing, I need to focus other things first.

lol..it's a rare fey who won't try a single trick, even if they like the person they're around :)

And you sould meet my gremlins. They *really* like me. Me, and my boyfriend's stuff. (Ok.. Texan, grew up on a ranch... he'd had his hat for 16 years and a whole lot of women... my gremlins took it! and so much other stuff...)
Kinda touching on another thread: I stayed with a friend for a time. I was rather uncomfortable in their basement. Come to find out, someone had bound a gremlin there. No one else was uncomfortable, and no one else had been addopted by them.
*sigh* must stop babbling....
