Get a few books, and practise on your friends!

My favorite book is The complete idiot's guide to Palmistry by Robin Gile and Lisa Lenard. It sounds negative..but it's really not! LOL
It teaches you all of the basics, then moves on to teach you to do full readings based on the shape and size of fingers(and they're planetary influences), phalanges, mounds,hands, the prescence and absence of certain lines and marks, the length, depth and branches of all lines. There are also exercises using pictures of real palms, and using your own. And it explains the difference between your right hand (what is) and your left hand (what could be). It's a relatively cheap book..about $17, I absolutely love it for beginning Palmistry..my husband bought it for me last year for Valentines Day along with a huge book on Mythology.
