I can only manage to believe and trust in the God and Goddess (Imhotep and Isis for me) nad I can't get beyond that to recognise the other gods and goddesses etc. Is this alright? To me they are the only gods and goddess although I acknowledge all the other god(dess)es they are the only one I would ever invoke or pray to and everything.
What do you all think?

Maybe you can read up on the other deities. I don't think that there's anything wrong with just honoring Isis and Imhotep. Personally, I don't know why people honor a god/dess whom they hardly know anything about. It's good that you have a good connection with two deities.

I believe that the two main dieties are a symbolic culmulation of all the others (and that all the deities make up Spirit, and that Spirit maes up everything else but that's irrelevant).
It's like a huge tree. It splits off into two branches, one being God and one being Goddess. Those two branches split off into millions of others, every smaller branch being another God and Goddess (although they are smaller branches, they are just as productive). The whole tree is Spirit.
I believe that monotheists metaphorically don't acknowledge the branches, but instead acknowledge the whole tree. Polytheists acknowledge several of all of the branches. It's all feasible and legitimate if you keep an open mind.
Deep philosophy aside, I like Egyptian dieties but after watching The Mummy and The Mummy Returns I don't think I personally could acknowledge Imhotep :p.
(Joke, I've got no problem with him but I'll have to burn my videos before I can actually acknowledge him seriously. Good for you if you choose to believe in him).

That's one thing about paganism/wicca.... you do what works best for you.
I don't see anything wrong with honoring the two dieties that you mentioned, and only those two. That's your personal choice, and if it feels right for you, then it probably is. :)
I think I have heard others express similar feelings regarding this matter... so if you are worried that you are the only one, don't fret.

What you're doing is fine, and I agree with Laurelei. When we don't follow our feelings and instincts, instead bowing to another's reality, we lose ourselves. It's usually best to follow your own guidance, especially if your worship is solitary.

I didnt realize that the vizier, architect and mathmetician Imhotep had at any point been deified. Sure he was greatly revered by the later dynasties for creating the science and method to build the pyramids and known as a great sorceror and vizier, but the deification is a new thing on me...

Within reason.

This is where I get more worried... people seem to fret if they only have one God/Goddess to pray to/worship... and I havent found mine yet. I only have my Lord and Lady... but dont feel I have been found by the appropriate God/Goddess yet.
Not any specific ones anyway.

I thought the Lord and Lady were the God and Goddess?

Lansana, I believe, honor and worship the Goddess and God pretty much the same way you do. I have a difficult time recognizing the others too, though I do know that they are there, and believe in them and honor them. However I see the Goddess as Cerridwen and the God as Cernunnos. Those are the only two I call upon and pray to and they are the ones I envision when looking to the Lord and Lady.
I find it difficult to explain to others, but I see that you feel the same way I do with Isis and Imhotep. I see nothing wrong with it, so long as you feel comfortable. :)

Lansana,
I basically agree with everyone else. Whatever works for you is best. I believe in the others, but I still call the God just plain ol' God (or Lord) and either go with my Goddess Persephone or Earth Mother for the Lady. This feels right for me at this time. I may find that there is a particular God out there I want to honor at some point, but haven't connected with one and being a reformed Baptist, still have trouble with the God thing.
However, if you are comfortable, isn't that what's important? :floating:

I'm there too! Right now I'm focusing most of my actual research on the various Gods, focusing on the Irish (though I'm probably going to be looking more at Greek as well).

Mesektet, I remember seeing a program (probably on Discovery?) that said that some time after he died, people would pray to him...mainly for healing, I believe (I'm trying to dredge it out of my memory, lol). Not sure if it was more of a situation similar to Catholic Sainthood or actual deification. *looks hopefully at resident Kemetics*
