Been working on studying and compiling info on herbs, stones and gems, incenses, oils, candles..etc. (As I'm drawn to start my learning with natural, healing, and candle magick). Also been gathering some of these things. Didn't get to 'feed the dead' this year, bake
the lil bone cookies I usually do, or even light candles for, or talk to the dead...was in the hospital and life's been way out of whack.
Didn't think I was anywhere near ready to actually start practicing..SO much to do first. But the spirits were SO VERY restless this evening. As I sat here on the puter..I could hear running, walking, stomping, rolling (as if they're up there moving furniture) right above my head in my bedroom. This type of activity normally doesn't bother me..ancestors and family are constantly making themselves known here. But it was so loud and distracting, without even thinking..I grabbed a candle and some oil (patchouli which I find to have a very calming and peaceful affect) did my thing, etched 'rest' on it did a bit of heavy thinking, visualization, mentally conveyed my appreciation and respect for them, that they're always welcome..but to calm it down a bit etc. It seemed to come so naturally. There was no big hooey about doing it, no second-guessing myself, no preparation. As I was doing this..I found Isabelle, my 8 wk old kitten climbing up my leg, then my shirt and perching herself on my shoulder sitting upright..intermittenly watching me, and looking around as if being my 'look out'..LOL
The candle hadn't burned more than a few moments..and all went quiet. Very nice..and encouraging to a newcomer I must say. Normally I just yell up 'quiet down or you'll have to leave!'..but this way seems so much nicer..lol
Isabelle is very young, we've only had her a week and a half..but I've felt a very strong bond with her from the get go, she's always at my feet and 'talking' to me..never lets me out of her sight. She's shown some very unique qualities already. The first nite she was here my 2 yr old woke up screaming from a nitemare..she FLEW up the stairs to him, and laid down..he went right back to sleep, and he doesn't have them anymore when she sleeps in his room. She LOVES incense and candles and sits on me purring when I'm studying.
I just love it when everything fits together :D

Thats great!! And always so CUTE when they are little like that.
*my cat still tries to do it... and well... he's just TOO FAT to get up on my shoulder without serious issues. LOL*

I hope that your kitten is as helpful in the future. :)

Blessed Be.
