Hi everyone .. I just wanted to let everyone know that I've finally started planning my wedding to my wonderful fiance, Robert!!
We're getting married on March 20th, 2004 in a very nice old hotel that is in a small town where my parents live. It's actually a historical marker .. so I'm thrilled!! Everytime I've walked into that hotel .. I glow with positive energy. It is an important place in my family's heart and has been for a very long time.
I'm SO!! excited heh .. We also have a good ole friend of the family .. his name is Mr. Dulany. He has two major rolls in this small town. He is the funeral director. He is also one of the kindest and sweetest Judges I've ever met. He began to cry when I asked him if he would marry Robert and I. He was a very good friend of my grandpa's. My grandpa is dead now but he lived in that town as Mayor for 16 years so he is well loved by many.
I haven't decided yet! heh but here is the dress that just screams my name thus far.

I've always wanted a more traditional atmosphere for my wedding. So .. I'll keep you guys posted .. might need some help on a few things since I'm quite indecisive!! hehehe .. I'll toss a poll on here from time to time so that I can have all of your wonderful input!!
Mrs. Robert Davis .. heh .. how interesting.
:hugz: to all of you!!

Congratulations!
My fiance and I are getting married on May 1 2004 (woo hoo Beltane!:yayhawaii:), and I've already been planning for a while - you are a brave lady to be doing all the planning in only 4 months!
The dress is beautiful! I've looked at lots of dresses, but in the end my mom and I decided to make mine. It will be very similar to this one, but with the skirt in the same silk as the bodice instead of chiffon: http://webbrew.co.uk/clients/Nickihill/images/Large/bride.jpg
Do keep us updated on your plans...I'm so excited about my wedding, I love talking to other people who are planning! :bouncybob

Aww .. heh .. you guys are so sweet.
Yes .. I had originally planned on having the wedding on October 30th .. I always plan my special events around my special days *soft smile* .. Ostara is very special to me .. new life .. new beginnings ..
As for kids hehe .. I have a daughter that is 7 years old already .. My fiance's father has a twin sister .. and my fiance's grandpa (mother's side) has a twin sister so .. I'm hoping to conceive 2 for the price of one hahahaha!!
As for the planning in 4 months .. I couldn't imagine waiting and planning for more than that .. I'd go insane for sure heh ..
Here's the invitations that I picked out today .. figure if I make as many decisions as possible in one day .. I can have some smoothe riding through the rest of the wait hehe

And .. my fiance found these tuxes .. where his will actually match my dress with the offwhite / white.
How exciting heh :hugz:

haha .. Mine too .. My parents and I have had a rough life .. my sister married on a 'spur of the moment' decision so my father is quite thrilled to walk me down the isle heh
I've already changed my mind about one thing .. the invitations .. Those are expensive!! .. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere .. like on an outfit for the night of the wedding *grin*

I know I know!
I'm planning on my mom walking me down the isle. if I can talk her into it.
Have you tried: http://dreamweavers.com/ ?
they're a bit pricey but they have great Ideas. found my dress there. :D

For both schadenfreude and Moondust - here are some fantastic wedding links:
www.bridesave.com (http://www.bridesave.com) - very good prices, and also reliable, if you're worried about ordering on the internet
www.frugalbride.com (http://www.frugalbride.com) - Canadian based, but lots of good planning advice, and not as impersonal as theknot.com
Also...I made my own invitations, and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY. That's one way of saving money...it cost me ~$100 (~$75 American?), as opposed to ~$300!

Ooooo .. thanks for the links!! I found a "Tattoo cover up" kit hehe .. I have a tribal ankh n my right shoulder and although it won't bother me a bit to have it showing .. nor bother my fiance .. suppose it would be nice for pictures and family to not wonder 'what the hell is on my shoulder' hehe

Congratulations!
I feel all mushy now. I'm such a dork. I got this warm glow-y feeling upon reading your post.
When I know someone's really happy or has something really good in their life, it makes me emotional.
One time at the mall I saw this ordinary looking couple, and I got all glow-y and warm.
LOL, i'm not as bad as I sound, I promise.
Now everyone's going to think i'm some oversensitive idiot...which I guess I can be at times.
The dress is truly gorgeous and the place you were describing getting married at sounds amazing.
Best Wishes
