After 7 years, I told my Mom today that I worship Mother Earth! I never told her because I come from a strong Christan family, I had told my friends a long time ago. You know, it was not that hard. Mom, accepted my beliefes. My Mom and I work for County Goverenment. So, we had off today. We went Christmas shopping for Dad, anyhow, we where bonding real well. We had not had a talk like we did about life in years. I'm single, and we where talking about places to meet people. My Mom said, you know if you go to church you can meet people there. And, I was about to give my normal speech about being happy single, but instead I told here that I don't believe in the Christian version of God and that I would perfer to worship Mother Earth, and that I never felt like I belong in a church. (Note: I did not use the word Pagan.) I then told her that is why my tree at Christmas time has animals, snowmen, and fairies on it. I have fairies all over my house. I believe them to be spirits of nature. Therefore, I have fairies instead of angles. I explaned that I worship nature spirits something like the Natives did.

Congratulations. It's never easy coming out of the closet, but a big relief when you do.

Congratulations! it's always a momentous occasion when someone comes out of the broom closet.

Even moreso when they don't get a new body cavity ripped into them in the process.

That is such a wonderful experience. I tried telling my parents that I was a Druid once and my dad still won't let me live it down. I have since crawled back under the bed, I prefer to hide under a bed rather than in a closet :floating:, but my whole family still thinks I'm weird. Eh, let them.

How great! I tried to tell my mom at one point and she cut me off and told me she'd rather not know! She knows it's wiccan, but doesn't want to hear what it's all about. So, we just don't talk about it. I guess some things are better left unsaid.

I know how you feel. I had attempted to tell my mother a while ago about my beliefs and she looked at me as tho I had told her I had feathers and was flying south for the winter.
