Can anyone explain the difference between sympathetic and contiguous magick? Can they or are they used in conjunction? Include examples if possible, I'm a little slow.

Well, this is what I know on the subject... sympathetic magic contains a ritual in which you imitate what you wish to happen. Say you would want to get pregnant then you might put a doll in a little cradle next to the bed when you make love. It is based on the princip that equal makes equal.

Contagious magic is the kind of magic in which you might get an for example an animals powers by a symbolic picture or so... like a hunter using clothing of lion fur to get some of the lions courage etc. Or if you would like to get pregnant you would perhaps make love next to an old fertility symbol like the Cerna Abbas in Dorset... The magic can of course also be the opposite, a couple could make love on a field to make the earth fertile.

Hope this helped some... and I often combine different types of magic, and I think that works just fine. :)

Blessings

I've heard that sympathy magick is when you use something to represent or symbolize something - ie. a poppet or hairs from his brush to represent your boyfriend.

Never heard of the other kind :)
