Let me start with this....I'm okay, Phoenix is okay and the car is mostly okay (ie it's still drivable)
*snorts* So we're out on the road today, going to pawn shops to hand out descriptions and the police report for the break-in. We stopped to get copies of all the stuff and then were waiting at the left turn light (we barely missed the light before, figures) for our turn.
We're watching the North/South traffic and I watch as a semi blows through just as their light turns yellow. Then it turns red and green sedan blows through the light. I say to Phoenix (as our turn light goes green) "People just don't pay attention to red lights down here do they?" He says nope and we wait a second or more before going.
BAM!
*laughs* Some guy blows the light and shears off the Saturn's bumper. *shake head* Amazing.
Luckily the guy was military as well, which means he's guarenteed to have insurance and as far as we know he was at fault since we had several witnesses (including me) who saw their light was red. So I think it's pretty cut and dried who's insurance is paying. And for once we were in an accident that the car is drivable from. *half-laugh*
I am SO done with car accidents though. It's horrible, but can someone else take this magnet?

Gods, you're telling me! I told Wanderer, "This is the first accident I've ever been in that was someone else's fault."
Wanderer's just very happy I didn't go about a half-second earlier - the guy would have hit my door instead of the front bumper.

**nods** Ain't that the truth. Fortune may favor the bold, but an ounce of prevention is better than three birds in the bush. Or something like that.

 you guys! *snatches the magnet from you and quickly throws it into outer space* You need to umm. . . I don't know! It doesn't seem to be you. But it is you. Because everything seems to be happening to you. So. . . um. . . I take it from you. No more owwies or anything. *HUG* No more stolen things and no more bad things. Only good things from now on!
I am so glad you are alright. Please stay safe!

((hugs)) glad everyone is safe.. and yes he was completely in the wrong (i'm an insurance adjuster) make sure you get witness statements signed when you go to his insurance carrier... it helps.. and a police report if one was made..

Neither of us are really upset about it. Mostly due to everything else. :D
We didn't get to go to the pawn shops, but Phoenix is going on Tuesday cause he has the day off. And I still made it to the health food store, to get almond butter for the zoom balls I was making tonight.
Things could have been so much worse. I'm just glad they turned out the way they did.

:hugz: Thanks Lunacie. :)
It's pretty much okay. The headlights and left blinker still work. The right blinker doesn't and it's missing that whole "plastic" bumper (it's a Saturn), but all in all they hit us almost perfectly if they had to hit us at all...so that there is very little structural damage to the car. I think it's mostly cosmetic.

There's nothing like knowing it's coming and watching it coming, and not being able to get out of the way. Last year when the school bus backed into me that's exactly the way I felt.

Not really seen, so much as heard. :) I heard the squeal of the other guy's brakes and knew it was time to hit mine. Fortunately, we hadn't really started moving yet.

I traded the '94 Dodge minivan for an '01 Kia Sephia today, tonight my daughter borrowed it go help a friend paint his house, and I just remembered I didn't get a shield of protection around it. Wonder if I can visualize it well enough to do it long-distance (25 miles)?
