I have a simple altar, just use it for burning incense/prayers/meditation (which I need to do more of, been getting side-tracked lately)

It's just set-up to which I'm comfortable, doesn't conform to any standard :p

but, anways, lately I've been thinking about the God and Goddess, and haven't set forth to giving a name to either of them (which, doesn't really matter, as I haven't been trying :p)

but, I have been drawn to using Isis (it's such a pretty name isn't it? :) )

and, just now, as I was lighting an incense, I looked at how my altar was setup, and the stuff lying on it, makes a pyramid shape

wonder, if that's a sign or not? :p

EDIT:

here's a visual aid (my web cam doesnt reach that far)

# - Red Candle (for fire)
===== - Incense Burner
* * - Goddess and God candles (respectively)
O - Bowls (one for water, and one for Salt)
X - Offering Plate

That's cool. :) My altar has been dismantled for many months now, so I don't know what shape it made! 8O

I would tend to take it as a sign...

Hhmm, lets see, you're drawn to Isis, an egyptian goddess, and your altar is set-up in the shape of a pyramid (actually a triangle to be acurate, a pyramid is 3-D), I'd say the gods/goddesses are trying to send you a message.

I'd take that as a sign... :)

Mine doesn't really make a shape...hehe

 Yeah my altar just doesn't really have a shape to it either ... but I'd say it's pretty much a sign.

You may want to consider the inverse scenerio, however...
Namely, that the shape was the result of mundane happenstance, and that your subconscious mind only associated the form with the egyption pantheon because you repeatedly performed conscious acts of devotion before it- thereby predisposing you towards a feeling of connection with Isis. Egypt is first thing most people will think of when confronted with a pyramid, and the subconscious is forever striving to impose order upon our peripherial awareness; if the conscious mind is thinking "goddess", the subconscious (registering the pyramid shape) will fill in the blanks later on.
In other words, perhaps you've felt drawn to Isis only because you've been praying in front of a pyramid?
Or perhaps it could be a sign. Who's to say?

interesting, and interiely possible, except, I know when I made the shape it's in now, it was on Samhain, I moved the god and goddess candles closer to the middle of the altar because I wasn't using the other things...

before that it was more trapezoid shaped :p

could be a sign... hmmm. i myself do not have an altar set up, but in studying and becoming aware of the little synchronicities along the way, here and there, i have learned to accept "answers", or Universal insights, i call them. :foh: "ohhh, o.k.... thank you, Great Spirit, for your mysterious enlightenment!" and, i think our subconscous(sp?) lends a hand to pleasing little discoveries like that, when we need them.... pretty neat that way.
