Any information is appreciated.

Shapeshifting is most often recognized as shifting into the persona of a creature (ie. another animal) to view life from its perspective. It's a big part of Shamanism, and takes dedication, training, focus, and in ancient times (and sometimes even now) hallucinogenic herbs :)

Heavy, heavy stuff <|=)

...I've heard that doin' "shadow bunnies" hearkens back to shape-shifting rituals.

The Rune Ehwaz (the 'horse' Rune, shaped like a capital 'M') is associated with shape-shifting. You might try meditating on it, & see what happens.

In the book 'Animal Speak', Ted Andrews describes shape-shifting techniques.

Good Luck.

Since this was originally posted, I've come to "hunt" almost nightly in the shape of a gray wolf... sometimes alone, usually with one or two others (& you know who you are! ) , occassionally with "The Pack". Sometimes I do this conciously, while still awake, but often it's in dreams. The experience is generally NOT about the "kill", it's about the chase... it's very exhilirating, & I usually wake up refreshed, rather than feeling like I ran all night...

This is a type of shapeshifting. It's been a step along my Shamanic Path.

I'll be hunting tonight (and most every night), if anyone here would care to join in... just come to the Snowy Moonlit Forest, & howl... I'll find you... :D

I've heard of something along these lines, though with on differance. Instead of actually shifting, you take over the body of whatever animal.

Sounds like that 'borrowing' thing that Granny Weatherwax does in Terry Pratchett's books. (fiction, :) ).

But seriously, I think it would be rude to take over an animal's body, if it were possible. I doubt I'd be happy if it happened the other way round.

Well you can't really do it without the animal's permission.

...sounds like a very intense ritual ! I've been looking around for details too, methinks I'm going to read that Ted Andrews book :)
