We need some excitement in this forum. Maybe a study group or daily card draw or something. I need to be entertained while I'm at work, not to mention mentally-challenged
So, does anyone have any ideas? Has this been done before?

I'd certainly like a study group!
If we get a list of interested people, we could assign each person one week where they're in charge of posting meditations, exercises, discussions, anything.

a study group would be wonderful - like a daily card that we can state the common interpretations, and then expand on our own interpretations.

I like the daily card idea. We can post interpretations according to our various LWB's, along with our personal shadings, and discuss the various decks' individual imagry...and pass along any anecdotes, meditations, spells(for those inclined), etc that have to do with that particular card...
Anyway, I'm in. :)
Wanna start with Majors?

Count me in! Daily Card Draws are a fantastic idea... It's already something I 'try' to practice daily, and I think that this would help me in that daily commitment...

We used to do card discussions here... People seem to lose interest after like.....Strength. :dis:

Me, me, me!!! :)
Great idea, and i'm deffiatly in! And hopefully, we won't loose interest ;)
When shall we start this group? People can just join in when they want to, right? We don't have to do a signing up thing.
Each day one of us can pick a random card, and we all give our thoughts & interpretations :) sounds cool!

I think we should have an official Tarot Study Group Chocolate Stash.
After all, we'll get a little peckish after all the hard work that goes into readings :)

Yay! I just logged on and read all the posts and I'm so excited! So, should we do random cards or a structured system where we start at the beginning?

I say Random!
We can say what deck we are interpreting the particular card from. I think, all the cards can mean & say different things depending on what deck it's from. And were not all going to have the same deck LOL.

This sounds like an excellent idea, and I vote for Random order as well. Lets get started. I'll start us off with a pot of hot chocolate and a pan of brownies. :)

I LOVE this idea!!.. Im thinking that even if we are all using different decks the meanings behind the cards are pretty similar to one another. At least the 2 decks I work with are that way. Anyway Im betting that different decks wont make alot of difference...Anyone want to start??
Til next time,

Thank you sooo much! (helping myself to a brownie and a mug)
I have to run off to a meeting, so someone needs to pull a card and get this party started!
I'll throw a spell on the clock to make the meeting end early...

So, how are we going to organize each day? Someone just post in here to "claim" the draw for the day, and then start a thread like Dagda's? Sort of a first-volunteer, first-draw type deal? lol

I Do! There are a lot of things that come to my mind. In Kraig's newest book--which I do not possess, anymore, alas!--Tarot & Magic--he picks-up on an idea originally brought forth by Denning & Phillips (a book which is Out of Print, currently) called: "Dancing w/the Tarot" in which Groups of People take on MANY Aspects of Major Arcana keys and . . . Now that I think about this it'd be very difficult to do, completely, on-line!
However, I've don't this a lot on Tarot sites: It'd work well here, too, I think! All we'd need to do is create groups of four, 5, or 6 and . . .
Here's the scenario:
1) "Someone" is The Querent and Asks their Question;
2) "Someone else" picks the Tarot spread;
3) "Everyone" (even The Querent, if s/he so chooses to do so) performs their own reading (using Differing Tarot cards, I've found best and most interesting), and, this Exercise is very Interesting (if not even close to "Enlightening," sometimes!) because time-and-time again, this HAPPENS:
I've seen that the INDIVIDUAL READINGS FROM THE DIFFERENT tarot READERS (mind you: the Tarot readers Have NOT chose their own Tarot SPREADS, and, I've also seen, sometimes, to even make things More Interesting, "Someone Else" picks the Tarot DECKS for the readers, as well.
Or, if not that, maybe they'd use their "Difficult Deck," &c) ARE SO CLOSE TO BEING exact--Similar to One and Other's--AND "RIGHT ON" TO THE Q's QUESTION THAT IT'S . . .
"Mystifying!"
Truly.
Slan leat!

Hi Everyone!
Dagda Moon~Lily has been gracious enough to kick off The Daily Card Draw thread. I just added a reply and that makes only eight, folks! I KNOW more than eight people showed interest! I would love to see the same strong showing that THIS thread promised. It doesn't matter if you're new or seasoned at reading.
So I just wanted to remind everyone that ALL Tarot readers are welcome to join us in this great learning experience and on the plus side, we can get to know each other as well!

Oh, I forgot to mention, there's brownies and chocolate cake--enough for everyone!--Lots and lots of chocolate going on here!

I love oracle decks - which ones do you have? I have Froud Faeries Oracle and the Fairy Ring and Healing with the Fairies. Notice a theme here?
I also have a very weird deck that I don't know what to do with...I Ching of the Goddess by Barbara Walker.

I love mine!! I sleep with it and carry it everywhere. The readings are different, and like I've said before I don't use them on others, just myself. The colors are exquisite, and I like the book. There is also a yahoo group led by the author of the book, Jesa something, which is very informative.
If you do a search, there is also a thread from a while back on this deck.
