I was wondering if any one could help answer some questions? I found this website last month, and so far I really like it! I purchased a book last week called "WICCA A GUIDE FOR THE SOLITARY PRACTITIONER" BY SCOTT CUNNINGHAM. So far it has been a big help for me. Can anyone recommend other books? Thanks! I have more questions, but I need to get off of the computer right now. BYE!

The complete Book Of Wicca And Witchcraft For Idiots by Denise Zimmerman and Katherine A. Gleason
Buckland's Complete Book Of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland
An ABC Of Witchcraft by Doreen Valiente (this book is often overlooked by some and I feel its a definite must have)
To Ride a Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf
Witchcraft Theroy And Practise by Ly De Angeles
These should get you started and offer a wide viewpoint for you.

If you go down to the Book Forum, there's a thread started there on just this very thing. Maybe the mods of this forum should move this thread there, as well?

Wow! You all here are great! Talk about quick responses. And big help too! I appreciate the info on the books and where to look. I do have another question, does anyone know of a way that I could somehow find some wiccans in my area that I could talk to on how to find things in our area and for guidance? I'm getting really good help from this website, but I'm so interested in this, I feel like I have a million questions and don't know how to start. Anyway, THANKS again.

Go to WitchVox (http://www.witchvox.com) and look up your hometown ~ or search your state in general.

You could try True Magick by Amber K.
I just got it and enjoyed it very much.

Merry Meet Annie. Scott Cunningham also has a Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner if you liked the first one. It is just a little more in depth but the same style. BB.

I don't really like the idiots guide to witchcraft...but that's because it focuses more on magick then relgion (in my opinion). But it is good for general information.
Also...they are right about Scott Cunningham...anything by him is good...hmm...I hear Silver Ravenwolf is good, but some say fluffy...I don't know for certain, haven't read any of her stuff.
Stick with Scott C. first, then go to Living Wicca (which is basically part two of what you are reading now)....after that, read anything you can get your hands on.
Everything will offer a different perspective, so affirm what you believe before you read all that stuff...it can be confusing sometimes because many books are conflicting.

I liked reading Silver RavenWolf when I began learning about Paganism. Some say she makes it all seem too simple. Well when you're just first starting out you want to keep it simple! Then you have all the time in the world to change your mind or veer of whatever RavenWolf thinks. I think if you're really serious about this Paganism stuff you'll read more books then the bunch she publishes. Now I use her books as reference for simple spells and rituals, and clear & concise info. She's no fluffier then Cunningham as far as I can tell anyway.. :)

Mostly I like Witchcraft : Theory & Practice by Ly de Angeles, and Green Witchcraft by Ann Moura. might also read works by Telesco, McCoy, Morrison, Starhawk, Horne, Galenorn, Grimassi, and Bowes, among others..
