Dear Kadynas,
I particular enjoy and respect Aries women. An Aries woman doesn't have any problem being independent. You simply can't dominate them!
Here is a desription of Aries Sun folk from the internet:
Aries
The Sun is in this first sign of the zodiac from March 21 to April 20 each year. The symbol for Aries is the Ram, because of the headlong, direct, and assertive nature of the sign. The sign is also symbolized by seeds shooting out of the ground in the springtime, suggesting a time and spirit of renewal.
In Aries, the Sun is highly action oriented. You like to do your thing, and you are opinionated and direct in doing it. Your Aries personality constantly wants to charge ahead, and insists on being the one who organizes, rather than ever allowing yourself to be led or organized by others. You have a hard time recognizing any point of view except your own. Highly action oriented, when an idea strikes you, you are off quickly to carry it out. Yet you are not so good in seeing projects through to a conclusion. Follow-up and finish work are not matters that suit your style. You constantly need new goals, new projects, and new challenges.
You are a quick learner and a self-starter; enthusiastic and curious. The main challenge for an Aries Sun sign native is the control of impulses. You must avoid scattering forces, for if you can learn to think before taking action, your energetic nature will enable you to do much. Natural impulsiveness and inability to listen to the advice of others sometimes involves you in difficulties. To succeed, you must learn to think everything through carefully before you proceed. Patience and the ability to plan are areas in which you may have to apply extra effort. You must reflect on the total effect of your actions to grow and progress in life.
You may have a sharp temper and a quick fuse as Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet associated with war and combat. Fortunately, you get over anger as quickly as it comes, and you never hold a grudge. You are neither devious nor subtle in your actions. Many Aries Sun natives are down right blunt. Only with concentration and attention can you ever acquire much diplomacy and tact.
With your natural Aries inclinations, you have a true adventurer's or pioneer's spirit; a longing for independence and a tendency to fancy yourself as a free soul. Born to lead, but not born to handle the mundane responsibility or bureaucratic red tape. When faced with complex details, you become very frustrated. Fully matured, your Aries spirit aspires to a gallant "never say die" attitude, and a willingness to take advantage of each new opportunity that comes along.

My best friend is a typical Aries. Everything fits her except maybe the fast-learner part. I was thinking about having a chart done for her for Christmas. She really is curious but not very self aware and wants to learn more about herself.

Aries is the exaltation of the Sun, as you know. Meaning it's the best possible position for the Sun to express itself.
Sun's at home with Leo, mine's there. Born in the mid-summer, when the Sun shines the strongest. But in detriment in the polar oppsoite of Leo, Aquarius. Aquarius is a cool, detached, impersonal sign, the Sun's too contained.
Aries, cardinal fire...vitality, birth, onset of spring. Libra, the opposite of Aries, is the sign of the Sun's fall. Libra is about "us", Aries is about "me".
Aries people can be impatient, impulsive, hot-tempered and all that, aspects from the Sun to Mars are especially important. But whatever the aspects are, it's rare to see an Aries lack self-confidence or fail at whatever he'she wants to do, the Sun is just that strong here.

The description of Aries seems to fit me well enough, but a lot of the time I feel like a lamb instead of a ram... I think my Virgo moon drags me down a little bit... :lol: I definitely do like to be in charge of myself though... I don't try to boss others around, and I absolutely hate it when someone tries to tell me I can't do something...been that way since birth, too, bless my Cancer mother's heart! :lol:

Dear Moon in Libra! So great to see another knowledgeable astrologer here besides just Kadynas and myself! You are right, we Aquarius Suns are non-leader leaders at best. We need and enjoy all the help we can get from others! Why shine as individuals when we can start a cooperative?
What does the rest of your scope look like? I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

With Aries sun would it be that the person appears self-confidant to others but really isn't?

It could be... I think that certainly fits me... One theory about sun signs is that we don't automatically start out with those characteristics, that we kinda "grow into" that sign and actually start off being closer to our moon sign...
Also a lot of the Aries bravado comes from the fact that we tend to jump into things without looking, often with great optimism, whereas a more cautious type would think we're crazy! Things that others see as dangerous, we'll see as a thrill: for example, I'd love to go hang-gliding someday... :)
SylverStar

Oh hang-gliding. That is one of the things at the top of my list. That's pretty much how I see Aries. Running head-on into situations. Very A-type personality. I think one of the reasons me and my friend get along so well is she doesn't mind going along with one of my crazy ideas. If I said I wanted to go run with the bulls I could probably talk her into doing it with me. Though she might regret it afterwards. (Hmm, maybe I should do that.)

Wonder if you appear to others as self-confident or whatever? The ascendant, aspects to it. The ruler of the ascendant being Mars, the Sun, or Jupiter, will usually make you exude that quality.
Redrose, been reading some of your posts, all I know about you is the Fixed Grand Cross, angular to boot. Tell me, does a transit across it turn things upside down?
I have a cardnial T-Square, Mercury in Cancer. Saturn in Capricorn, Moon in Libra as the focal point. A very busy 5th, forget it. I'll post the birthdata, would like to see yours...

You talked of your childhood, seems your 4/10 parental axis has heavy tension, too. Born at a full moon, experience disharmony through others, forever it seems?
And, yeah, I can see how a Virgo Moon can weigh down a Sun Aries, Moon's at the IC at that. Cancer ascendant, most likely, chart ruler at the IC, probably wouldn't guess you to be an Aries off the bat. Still, this combo, you should really write, not suprised you're nocturnal, either.

Dear Moon in Libra,
Feb. 6, 1955, 10:56am in Bellingham WA. Yep, Grand Fixed, Angular Cross, slightly sloppy - waffles between my Moon and Pluto down South - O my. As you probably understand, beyond our normal troubles, Grand Fix Cross folks have been really "hit" with famous transits these last few years. The Grand Fixed Cross in the sky in Aug 1999 was huge for me, but mostly as a huge inner initiation. The stampede of planets in Taurus in May of 2000, was the moment my Mother decided to enter her death days. Sure enough she had decided that she would be the first human to not die, bless her - it was a very stubborn death. We had hospice nurses arriving from all over the state. They had never seen anything like it.
Recently the Lunar eclipse of the "Harmonic Concordance" happened conjunct my Ascendent, and POW, seems like I am starting all over again.
Yet I learned long ago that the only Fixed thing in life is change and transformation, so I fix on that. For other people, when a door closes, a window opens. For me it is more like when the house explodes, a yurt appears, somewhere.
I have a whole cue of charts to look at, would love your imput. It will be a bit before I have a chance to glance at your scope, but I look forward to it!
Thanks for being here.

PS - By the by, I imagine it would take some knowledge of astrology to understand that your post started out talking about SylverStar, then about me and then you, and ended up discussing Kadynas.

Dear Moon-in-Libra,
I have always done a bit of astrology as a side gig, but now I am hoping to focus in and do it more and more. I really love it, and astrology has saved my life many times. And my job as a columnist for a newspaper just evaborated. Guess there was some mismanagement of funds up ladder, so even though we were popular, we are no more - urgh! This was upsetting until I remembered that my NN is conjunct Venus conjunct Ceres in the 8th House in Capricorn - and Pluto has just "hit" my 8th House door!
Neptune has been transitting my 10 House for what seems like forever as well, and will be there until the year 2012, scrubbing back and forth over my Aquarius Sun....
So astrology as a career "fits" better than the job I just lost, in several ways. We will see if it manifests, if it that "yurt" or not.
Thanks for asking.
Kadynas isn't a Full Moon baby; she posted her info. somewhere around here recently. I have it but I will let her respond. Her beloved has Scorpio Sun on his IC with Taurus Chiron conjunct Taurus Moon at his MH! What you make of that?

Dear Feather,
Libra Rising, Moon in Gemini and Sun in Aries. But the reason you don't FEEL like a Sun in Aries type is because your Sun is right on your Descendant, directly opposite your Ascendant. And your Ruling planet is Venus in Pisces in the 6th House (more on this at the end). Here is far more information than you might need about Sun opposition Ascendant. It is just so good I can't help posting it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://groups.msn.com/Interpretations1/sunsquareopposascendant.msnw
Sun opposition Ascendant (Robert Pelletier)
The Sun opposition the Ascendant shows that you are easily impressed by people you meet and hope that they will be similarly impressed with you. You attract powerful individuals with strong egos who always try to gain dominance over you. Without realizing it, you are showing that you doubt your own significance, in the hope that others will reassure you. Somewhat unsure of yourself, you fear you will be rejected in your relationships. You become affiliated with successful persons whom you can admire, because you need to know that you are genuinely appreciated, not merely tolerated. In other words, you are always looking for backhanded compliments. You enjoy having people fawn over you because it bolsters your sagging opinion of yourself.
In personal relationships, you try too hard to do everything you think is expected of you, as if to make doubly sure that your friends think well of you. You must become independent of the security you had in your parents' home and transfer your need to belong to someone you can related to personally.
Before asserting your own opinion, you always try to put yourself in the other person's place. This can be a definite asset if you decide to go into business or a profession, because you would give your clients the impression that they are the most important people in the world. Flattered, they would happily pay for your services. Those who are the recipients of your services know your worth better than you do.
You have no difficulty in communicating with people, perhaps because you really enjoy having people around you. But you have to work hard to convince associates that you are as capable as they are, and if they don't accept this you prefer to work alone. You need to assert yourself more aggressively when competing for job opportunities, or you will be left out.
Sun square or opposition Ascendant (Betty Lundsted)
When the Sun squares or opposes the Ascendant, there is more difficulty in expressing the qualities of the Sun in daily activities. Constructive action may not be easily taken until these individuals become conscious of the sign dilemma.
When the Sun in the 7th house opposes the Ascendant, a compromise between self-initiation and relationships. This may indicate individuals who feel they must give up a great deal of freedom and personal decision-making in order to marry and have a partnership.
Sun opposition Ascendant (Sue Tompkins)
Those with Sun on the Descendant can sometimes seem to 'give' their Sun to others, in as much as they give power to other people. I have particularly noticed this with Sun-Descendant clients, for they seem to take more than usual notice of what might be said during a consultation, tending as they do to ascribe far too much importance to the views and opinions of others at the expense of their own and frequently looking to other people to make their decisions for them. The astrologer-client relationship, like any other counselling situation, is based on equality and sharing. If one person could be said to be more 'important' than the other, then that person is clearly the client. In the most extreme instances, the person with Sun in the 7th, when in the role of client, is reluctant to accept this fact. He / she gives away his / her importance, fights shy of the limelight, and tries to manipulate the situation so that the counsellor is centre-stage and the one pulling the strings in the client's life. Where this does happen, it is usually repeating a situation that has been created in their other partnerships, whether personal relationships or working partnerships. All too easily, the Sun-Descendant person can believe that his / her life is fated and that he / she is merely a pawn in the hands of the heavens or of others' superior power.
This is not always the case, of course, but certainly Sun-Descendant, rather like a Sun Libran, does like to share the decision-making process and does like someone to do things with. Relationship and partnership are very important to this type. It's a good placement for people who work in a partnership, and indeed for anyone who works in a one-to-one situation. In some cases, the Sun-Descendant might say 'I am nothing without a partner; life has no meaning without another person'. More positively, Sun-Descendant people might say 'I find myself through close interaction with another person'.
This is a very good placement for analysts, therapists and the like. They can find their identity through close interaction with another person, and, similarly, in a one-to-one situation they can enable others to shed light on themselves. They may even achieve personal distinction and recognition through relationship. It's a common placement in the charts of lawyers too; they often work in partnerships, and on each case they work in partnership with their clients; usually, also, lawyers are involved in litigation with 'open enemies', and are working, ideally, for justice and fairness.
Descendant-Sun people are proud of their partnerships. This is the type who, aged 70 or 80, can be found linking arms with their spouses and stating proudly that they have been married fifty years or so. It is not that relationships are more likely to last with the Sun conjunct the Descendant, or that it is necessarily a good thing if they do, or even that the relationships will be necessarily better than any other people's. But with this placement relationship tends to be the most important thing, and something of which to be proud.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Moon in Gemini in the 9th House makes you a great communicator and you simply love learning. When you feel bad, you need to talk about it, and study up on it. Talking things through helps you understand your emotions.
As for your soul's agenda this life, your Gemini Moon is very important:
http://members.aol.com/terriastro/nodes.htm
NN in Gemini:
Yours is the path of information gathering and sharing. You want to cultivate curiosity and probe the world for more information, verbally or intellectually. Learning to really listen to others can be a challenge. You do not fare well when you follow blindly. The more experiences you are open to, the better. Deal squarely with life in the here and now.
NN in 8th House:
Yours is the path of regeneration and transformation. You are learning the power of letting go of your attachments: releasing and eliminating that which is no longer meaningful to you. You must be willing to risk what you have to reach higher levels of attainment. Seek that which is deep, real, spiritual, and abiding. Cultivate passion and self-control .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Libra Rising folk are very likeable, they usually get along with everyone but you also have Pluto in your first house:
www.astrology-numerology.com
First House
Pluto positioned in first house results in an increased intensity to the personality and a more powerful will. Your personality is magnetic, and you often crave power, as the ego is very strong. You may have an expanded sense of initiative, but find it more difficult to work with people than your Ascendant suggested. This is because of the powerful and dominating tendencies in your nature. There is also a mystery here, as you are a difficult person to get to know. Conformity is never easy for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturn in Scorpio in the 2nd House means you really desire financial security but you need to really study and learn lots before you can pull it off. The good news is that Saturn issues always get better with age, if we do our Saturn work. In time our Saturn placement becomes an area of great mastery. Hard work and study will always prosper you in the long haul. And with Mars also in your 2nd House, you get energized by the whole process of creating a solid financial scene for yourself.
With Uranus, Neptune, and Jupiter all in your 3rd House, again you are a truly great communicator this life. You are an unusual thinker, a very independent and revolutionary thinker. And with Neptune in the 3rd House:
Third House
Neptune in the third house imposes an influence on your mental processes and your communication with others. This placement shows a very intuitive mind, and sometimes, an ability to communicate on a higher plane. It often suggests involvement in some way with mass media or with advertising. In your youth, your mind may be subject to drifting and wandering, and a practical channeling of ideas and information must be developed and maintained. Insecurities in the early part of life are likely.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venus rules your scope and it is found in the 6th House of humble service and healing.
Sixth House
This placement suggests social activities and romantic involvement associated with the work that you do. There also may be an emotional attachment to work. In any event, the work environment is harmonious and pleasant. This placement often points to an occupation dealing with people such as mediators, agents, arbitrators or in about any job dealing with women. Venus has a decidedly artistic inclination that may inspire the choice of work.
Pisces
If Venus is in Pisces in your chart it may show a very compassionate and tender-hearted nature. You have a strong need for love and understanding, and without this you can feel lost. Thus, you may much of your time falling into and out of love. No one can experience the extreme highs and low lows faced in the love life of the Venus in Pisces.
This sensitivity marks you as a most understanding person, but one who is highly dependent and in need of a caring partner. This vulnerability is a very attractive and attracting trait. With your warmth and graciousness, you have little trouble establishing close relationships. You are inclined to become somewhat dependent in a relationship.
If this is not the case, then you may attract a partner who becomes dependent on you. This sign, more than any other, is called on to make sacrifices for the sake of loved ones. You are more likely than most to be attracted to people who take advantage of you. Your heart rules your head, and there is little that can be done about this. You have a talent for collecting those who are downtrodden, unfortunate, or in some sort of need. Using good judgment in matters of the heart will have to be a learned trait, as it doesn't come naturally.
Extreme sensitivity can leave you open to hurt. You have a fear of rejection that can make it hard to express feeling that are so deep in this placement. Strong feelings sometimes cloud reality. Your intuition is highly developed, and you relate deeply to art, poetry, nature and music. You may have special talents or just a wonderful sense of appreciation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope that explains why you are not your average Aries Sun dynamo!
