4 Car Pile up in the Driveway.

I just had to tell you guys what happened yesterday at my mother's house. I'm gonna be posting pictures a little bit later, but holy cow!

So my friend Dave went over to my mothers house to say "hi" and see what was going on. (i wasn't there) and he parked his F150 in the driveway next to my stepfathers F250. (There was a Lincoln next to the F250) My mom was sitting on the couch talking to my friend when she saw a car come around the bend, across her front lawn, and into Dave's truck!!!!! Later, when the police checked the accident out, they said the guy had to be doing about 50mph (in a 35mph zone) and he was drunk and talking on a cell phone. He hit Dave's truck with enough force to move it 6ft. into the F250 which was moved another 6ft. into the Lincoln which was moved about 3ft. I'm just thanking the Gods that the kids weren't outside playing in the front yard, 'cause they would have been dead. This guy side swiped a tree, and didn't break until he was about to hit Dave's truck.... He's lucky he isn't dead... I'll get pictures up later. :)

Wait until you see his car... The airbags didn't go off, because he actually went under the truck a bit, but the bumper didn't get hit... He's one lucky SOB, but really stupid... Drunk, talking on the cell phone, and speeding... Idiot...

Ha! That's right... It's our fault... Our yard specifically jumped in front of him and made him crash. Our trees, and the parked cars we're in on it too... Oh yeah, and before hand, we forced him to get drunk at a bar around the corner. And then we made him talk on the phone. I mean come on... He even admitted that he was at fault. His blood alcohol level was only .08 (legally drunk is .10 in NJ) but the couldn't finish the sobriety tests... My family will be fine in this whole thing... They didn't do anything wrong... I mean, if you see these pics, there's no way it could be anyone else's fault but the drivers.

Perhaps this will be what it takes to get the fella to stop driving after drinking! When will folks learn to Designate a driver! I love to go out and have a few drinks with friends but ALWAYS we designate somebody to drink pepsi.

Oh well, after seeing the pics I agree that you're so very lucky the children werent outside *shudders just thinking about it*

The kids or my mom and my friends. Normally they stand out there on nice days and hang out and talk. Everyone agrees that this could have been much worse.... And thank you everyone for your kind words... They are appreciated by my whole family.

As for the tree, he managed to miss the dead one, and hit the Japanese Maple. *shakes head* I'm gonna have to put a bandage on it tonight so that it doesn't die over the winter now, as that tree is very sensative to injury.

This Sunday, after the big snow storm we had, some guy in a truck came around the curve, and right across the yard. Took out the mailbox, hit the same Japanese Maple, and smacked into Chris's Blazer, which then slid into my little sisters brand new Saturn... *shakes head* I'm not parking in that driveway anymore... That's 7 cars in two weeks...

He was being careful, and trying not to slide all over the ice, and was only going about 20-25 miles an hour. He just lost control going around the curve.

I don't think they took any pics this time. It really was a minor accident, and I think that the guy was able to drive away from this one, but there is quite a bit of damage to the one side of the Blazer. I'll find out when I go over tonight.
