I was perusing in my BOS looking for something inspiring, and I found this...I'd actually forgotten all about it.

One day as I was picking the toys up off the floor
I noticed a small hand print on the wall beside the door
I knew that it was something that I'd seen most every day
But this time when I saw it there I wanted it to stay

Then tears welled up inside my eyes, I knew it couldn't last
For every mother knows her children grow up way too fast
Just then I put my chores aside and held my children tight
I sang to them sweet lullabies and rocked into the night.

Sometimes we take for granted all those things that seem so small
Like one of the Gods' great treasures...
A small handprint on the wall.

Heh. Here's something.

When my oldest was barely two, his daddy painted their play room robin's egg blue, and I begged him to use that (what was then) brand new washable paint (it's virtually kidproof). Of course, he did what he wanted and went on. Well, I was in college at the time, and one afternoon while I was studying and the baby was asleep, my oldest was sitting at the coffee table coloring. We loved doing "our homework" together. :D I got absorbed in my work and "lost" him, but heard a strange "clicking" noise. He'd taken his BLACK crayon, stripped the paper off, held it sideways and as far as he could reach, he'd colored the entired playroom black. LMAO! 8O 8O 8O 8O The look on his face when I went into the room was priceless. He just knew he was in trouble. But he wasn't. :D

I love this poem. I used it in my dd scrapbook. :):):)

With her it will ring to be very true. She is my last baby. She starts Grade 1 in the fall. :(:(:( As much as I am happy to go back to having a normal work schedule in the fall(the hazards of kindergarten!) I have no more pitter patter of lil' feet in the daytime hours. I miss them being young.

But I have been assured that I will adapt to this. :):):)(ya right)

I still remember the very last time I breast fed my son. I remember how we used to walk together & he would reach way up to hold my hand. I remember how he stood so close to me on the first day of kindergarten that he was standing on my foot. Everynight I would sneak into his room & watch him sleep. I still do that & he's 11. :D Has anyone read "Love you Forever"? I love that book! :D

Yes, *sniff, sob*
I have this bad habit of getting all choked up when I read books to my kids, and this is one of them!

My first is going to Kdg this September and it makes me sad in a way too. They really do get so big so quickly. Other parents keep telling me, "Oh it gets so much harder as they get older. Well, I don't want it too. I love them so much!

Oh and I have a mark of crayon that my son colored on the wall when he was right around two. I was about to get angry and he told me it said "I love you." I refuse to clean it off. I will probably move out of the house and it will still be there. I have even painted around it!

Chris~off to get a tissue...

When I got divorced, I bought a copy to read to the kids when they came to visit. The baby took the book home, and I had to replace it. It's a great book!

Raevyn,

Yes they are beautiful kids, you must be very proud of them, and your little witch is sooooo cute!!!!

And Reanna, yes you will adapt to it.
When mine were little I couldn't possibly imagine them grown up, loved having toddlers and thought i'd have them forever.
But grow up they do, my babies are now 20 and 16. Can't possibly imagine having toddlers around!
And you know what? I don't miss it at all - it's great when they get to this age. After devoting 20 years of your life to them you welcome the chance of having a life of your own again, even though you love them just the same.
And if you're lucky like me, you get to double your CD collection - mine are both rock fans, yiippppeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Raevyn, your kids are adorable, did you make the dresses your daughter and doll are wearing? That is cute!

Wildchild, I have that book also, and I cry everytime I read it. I love it!

My kids are still at home and very young but I know I will have a hard time letting go.. we are
all just about attached at the hip.

I love mine but I have 4 and they havn't all been home for vacations at the same time before. I had them in year round school on different tracks so it was alwas 2 home for three months then a month of just the 4 year old. I've been on my video game for therapy lately. My free time has been killing monsters in Baldur's Gate 2. It's that or velcroing them to the ceiling in their rooms! If you think I'm joking ask Tanna or Celtic_Angel they have met my kids!:D

Yes and I cried everytime I read it to my son. He's 9 now, and is going through that phase, where he needs me, but he doesn't want his friends to know it. You know what other book gets me, And now we are six, especially the end, when it talks about Christopher Robin going off to Kindergarten. *sniff* I'm tearing up right now! I'm such a sap.

I want more kids, but it's not working just yet. Hopefully by the end of the year.....*sigh*

My mother-in-law's aunt picked up a half-bolt of Nova Scotia tartan ($$$$$$$$ !!!!) last spring and my m-i-l made those matching outfits... the doll's name is Bride, by the way...Hollea named her on her second birthday (the day she got the doll and the outfit)...the thing is, she is not familiar with the Goddess' names!!! My m-i-l wanted to call her Bridget (which is another Goddess name) but Hollea was insistent...it was Bride or nothing at all!!

:) And thank you all for your lovely compliments...yeah I think I'll keep these three around for awhile, whaddya think? ;)
