View Full Version : What card makes you cringe?

I struggle with the Tower. Everytime I get that card in my own readings I cringe. I know that I have a lot of hard work and challenges ahead of me when I get that card. I also know that rebuilding will be involved. And who enjoys that?

Does anyone else struggle with a card?

I agree with you...the Tower is a biggie for me.....I also dont like seeing Sacrifice reversed as it points to a decision I probaly wont want to make.

Both of those get to me when I see them

In the minors I dislike seeing the 3 of swords...ok...well many of the swords are troubling, but maybe thats just because I really hate the feelings they invoke within me :)

I don't often get the tower but when is does turn up I always know this are going to get tricky. For me the moon reversed often comes up and this has a very simmilar effect on me since I know I'm looking at the world through rose colored specticals and I know I am the errecter of my own fables of illusions but I like my optermistic view and everything looks nicer with a rosy glow :). I just wish the cards would stop nagging at me and leave me be an ostrich for a while LOL.

I don't often get the tower but when is does turn up I always know this are going to get tricky. . . .Me, too. Although I've not for a couple of months, I'm pretty good at keeping a Daily 3, 4 Card Tarot Reading (and especially a Daily Tarot Card Draw--I made apx 10 copies of a page from some book years ago that upon every end of the year one can see and/or analyse which Tarot cards appeared most often) and Key #16/The Tower hardly ever shows itself; not in personal readings, nor in those I give for other's.

Not that I think that Key #16/The Tower is "Bad" (I hardly think that any Tarot card is bad, altho I tend to say--to myself--"O! Good, O, Good, O, Goodie-good-Good!" whenever Key #21/The World shows its smiling face!) but . . .

I always keep in mind that the corresponding Hebrew letter to this Key is the 17th, Peh, meaning: "Mouth" (and on many Tarot #16/The Tower Keys that--however "Big!"--is pretty predominate) as my reminder to "Hey, dude? Listen up!"

I drew it a few times this year on very important personal readings and failed to "hear" its due warning. A True Lesson. I mean it.

Mayhap I was just too busy "seeing . . ." (???)

This is what I mean:

G.:.D.:. "Ritual" (now: "Magicigial Tarot deck" . . . How "Quaint . . ." Don't get me started . . . "Mo' Money! Mo' Money!" grrrrrrrr . . .) fro the(m) Cisero's, but . . .

Traditionally? There're Right On . . . You have/see The Mouth. Peh. 17th Hebrew Letter.

hmm..not any one card bothers me too much, although, I'm not overly fond of the Tower..just what my life needs a little more chaos, and the 5 of pentacles usually isn't a welcome card since it usually means money problems. I don't believe that any card is particularly negative or bad, some just represents some of the less pleasant aspects of life.

I had just been considering this the other day! The five of
swords ALWAYS makes me cringe, whether it comes up in a reading
or even if I just look at the card; I've noticed this with every
deck I've worked with. The card has no special connotations
for me, nor does it provoke any associated negative memories;
I never could account for it... Does anyone have any clue why
a certain card would effect an intuitive aversion?

Ten of swords, Internally not externally
and I cringe every time I see 'Death' only because no matter how often you explain to them that Death means change they still f*cking panic and get into tears

Asamananara...since the 5 of swords usually indicates being faced with some sort of failure or defeat maybe that is what disturbs you.

I also would have to agree, I personally dislike the tower card

I hardly ever draw the 10 of swords in my own readings, so it doesn't really bother me. But when I draw it for someone else's reading I do know that there is a tough recovery ahead for them. And you never want to tell someone that in life these negative things must happen to turn into positive things.

I haven't had a lot of problems with explaining the death card either. What gets me is the devil, because if I have talked openly with the person that I am reading for, (and not a sister witch of course) I have just explained to that person how as a witch I don't believe in the devil, and that the devil is a christian god. And then I have to explain the card.....

All the swords cards. Ok not really. Just the three, nine, and ten in that order. Which is funny because I'm a sword person.
