I got this out of an email I got. Enjoy!

SOAP CUBES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This project is as fun as it is simple—especially for kids, who will love the soaps for their miniature size and luminous colors. Make a few batches now, and you'll have playful (and practical) welcome gifts on hand for a summer’s worth of visiting friends and family: Simply place a jar or drinking glass filled with “ice cubes” next to each set of guest towels, and refill as needed.

Materials:
Glycerin
ice-cube trays
liquid food coloring
petroleum jelly
cotton swabs
microwavable container

1. Glycerin is usually sold in large blocks at crafts stores; to melt it, cut it to a size that will fit in a microwavable bowl or measuring cup.

2. Smear a dab of liquid food coloring into the bowl or measuring cup with a cotton swab or coffee stirrer. Food coloring is very concentrated, so only use a tiny amount; try mixing different colors.

3. Heat the glycerin in a microwave on high, stirring at 15-second intervals, until it’s completely melted.

4. Use a cotton swab to coat the inside of the ice-cube tray with petroleum jelly. Pour the melted glycerin into the tray, filling each section almost to the top.

5. Cool for about 2 hours; the soap cubes will pop right out.

The glycerine is called Melt & Pour. It's a soap base that you can find in craft stores. Be careful using food colouring because it can stain your towels & your skin as well.

It can be a good bit of fun, if you are looking for coloring, the craft shop that you buy it from should have it. I have used small amounts of food coloring in my first few batches.... the regular soap coloring works alot better!:D

Also making real home made soap (lye based) is not hard to do, there are some great sites out there to find the info on.
