Hi there,

I am an individual who is at this point in life confused. I was born and raised in a traditional East Indian family. I have gone to the Sikh temples and for some reason or another I have not felt connected. I view that we are all equal and that we are all connected to everything, not only humans but nature as well. I am finding myself on this journey of life and at the moment, I have ventured onto the path of Wicca. I'm very much into the elements, particularly air, earth and water, as well as spirituality and enlightment. I don't know if Wicca is the path for me. I do know that there is this feeling of fear when I think about going outside of my original religion. When I first read some information about Wicca, I felt a connection but there are certain aspects of it that scare me i.e. the rituals. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if in Wicca you can pick and choose what it is that resonates within yourself. As well, if there are other forms of Paganism that are earth/nature focused and if so, are there any books that you could recommend.

Thanks!

Goldie

First off.....
Welcome Goldie! Pleased to meet you. :):):):)

I follow my heart and soul. I have always been a naturist at heart, and find that it gives me the greatest sense of peace and tranquility to be outdoors.

Anyway, my advice to you, hang out here for awhile. Lots of great wonderful people who follow a variety of beautiful paths. Search on the net, try the library and if you are lucky they may even have some books on paganism.

Welcome to Mystic Wicks Goldie!!! So glad you decided to join us!

As for your path... You can absolutely choose every part of it. Your spirituality is between you and your Gods so just do what you feel is right for you.

As with everything, if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask. We have a great bunch of people here and most are more than happy to answer any and all questions you may have. And, if we don't have the answer you're looking for, we're pretty good about pointing you in the right direction to find it on your own. :)

And I wouldn't worry too much about labeling yourself or your religion. You're still in the process of finding it so it may change day to day anyhow.

Good luck in the search. :D

I would keep in mind the advice of Dria El and reanna. I would also recommend reading everything you can on whatever you find interest in and let it work itself out. Best of luck! BB.

There's another thread or two on the whole Pagan/Wiccan/Witch thing around here somewhere...

Sounds like all this is trying to tell you that you need to add some things to what you believe, not just fully leave it. That is why you could be scared. It is telling you that you should not leave it, but expand upon it. Learn more. Pherhaps that is also why you are afraid of some aspects of Wicca as well. No one ever said that being eclectic was a bad thing. Quite on the contrary, many are eclectic just ask. Encorporate what you are confortable with. Then after that you should feel better, if not expand more! Test the limits of your religous mind.:D Sorry if this sounds kind of fragmented and strange, I am putting mya ttention to two different things at once.:D
