What should I use?

I'm customising several guitars and I'm looking to replace the control knobs with some stones or crystals for a little help. I need something that will improve my control over the tone. The guitars are a Epiphone Les Paul Studio (2 volume controls, two tone ie one for each pickup) and a Ibanez SR765 (One volume control, pickup balance, treble boost/cut, bass boost/cut) if that's any help! Much apreciated if you can give any helpful feedback!

i know they use quartz in acoustic pickups, not sure if that would be helpful or harmful in the tone knobs though. i would guess you would want some kind of insulator, though, to prevent "jumping" of signals. i don't know enough about the electrical properties of crystals to recommend any, but i would avoid malachite and azurite because of their high copper content.
