I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, if not, the Mods can feel free to move it to the appropriate forum...
I was just wondering what anyone knew about telepathy...if you do it, what your focus is, who you can do it with, etc.
any info would be beneficial.
thanks

I've actually thinking of starting to work with telepathy. However I don't have anyone to work with. I could always try to get one of my friends to help.

I know a bit about telepathy. My father and sister are telepaths. I know a few simple exercises for trying and enhancing your skills.

OK, here goes.
A simple exercise using ESP cards. Why ESP cards? Because it's just 5 different black and white shapes, and thus easy enough to start with. A standard ESP deck has 25 cards, 5 of each symbol: a square, a circle, a pentagram, a cross and two wavy lines.
It takes two people: a sender and a receiver. Best setting: same room, soft music, sitting back to back on comfortable chairs.
The sender takes 20 ESP cards (4 of each symbol), shuffles the deck and takes the top card. Focus on that card. Let the shape of the symbol really sink into your mind. Imagine how your hand would write the symbol on paper (do not actually write it down when you're in the same room!). Imagine the sound a pencil would make if you would actually write the symbol. Imagine sending those perceptions, those thoughts, into the room. Not focused at the receiver, but like a continuing wave of energy, emitting from its center, which is you.
The receiver sits at a table and has five ESP cards in front of him, one of each symbol. You hold a pencil and have a piece of paper ready. You try not to think of anything, while watching the five cards. You wait until you think you're perceiving something. Perhaps you're drawn to one of the five cards in front of you. Perhaps the correct symbol appears in your mind. Perhaps you hear the sound of how the symbol should be written. Perhaps you feel the writing motion in your writing hand. If so, give in to that urge and write it down. If else, say the name of the symbol out loud.
The sender than reacts by admitting or denying (saying yes or no).
Repeat this exercise 6 times, alternating the role of sender and receiver. More than that will only result in wearing you out, so take it slow at start. Over time, your results should improve.

My daughter and i do exorcises using colors and numbers. Those seem to be easy to see. Especialy the colors.
That is what works for us anyway. Her accuracy is at about 90% mine is 80%. We play with it every couple days. If we go a long time with out playing are accuracy rate goes down.
It's a continual process.
Sometimes we will find events in each others day. That is a lot of fun. She always gets so excited when she is right on.

Instead of using the ESP cards, you could take cards with 5 different colours. This will do with young children and people with high visualisation skills. However, there's no handle for a symbol, making it a little bit harder when you're older than a child.
Edited to agree with Open Again: adding a number to the colours will enhance the perceptibility.

There's a nice exercise for those with fine motoric skills, using a pendulum. You can use your favourite quarts on silk, or just a little screw on a thread. It doesn't matter for the exercise.
Take three small objects (for starters), like three different ESP cards (while you're at it) or just three random objects from around the house. Don't take a burning candle. You don't want to hurt yourself. Put the objects on a table, with about 4 inches of space in between.
The sender and receiver stand next to each other, without touching. (You'd touch with muscle-reading, but we're trying telepathy. No touching!) The receiver holds the pendulum approx. 10 inches in front of the objects, about 5 inches above the table.
The sender focuses on the direction the pendulum needs to sway. (That's why you stand next to each other, instead of at opposite sides of the table.) The receiver should start feeling an urge to move in a specific direction. Your heartbeat and muscle fatigue will add to the movement. This might take a while, ranging from several seconds to about a minute. Give in to that urge. If it takes longer than a minute, stop and try again later.
With three objects, the pendulum will sway in one of three directions: left-front, right-front or front-back. The movement the pendulum makes indicates the chosen object. The receiver should follow the pendulum towards the object. If the pendulum slows down, you've found the chosen object. If not, go back to the starting point and try again.
This exercise takes a bit more patience and energy than the ESP reading one, thus try this only a couple of times, each being receiver and sender in turn. Stop before it wears you out.

These simple exercises are published by Jack Chandu, in a Dutch booklet called "Practical paranormal experiments", 1983, isbn 90-202-0650-8.
The translation is mine ;)

I just found a very obvious exercise you can do in general public. It trains your sending skills. Stupid me didn't think of this before, I'm a trained energy worker and I do this all the time!
Nevertheless, here it is:
When travelling in public transport, or having lunch in a public restaurant, look around and find someone who has their back turned to you. Look at them, and send out the thought, "Look at me." Depending on your sending skills and the "victim's" general perception, it shouldn't take more than five minutes before they turn around, looking for you.

Yes thanks. I knew the one with the ESP ones and when I was a child me and my friend use to do some of these for fun.
I would really like some more ideas on how to work on telepathy without a partner, if anyone has any suggestions.

I know a couple more, but they become increasingly more difficult. So I'll post them, but it takes a while translating.

Thanks Xentor you're a true sweetie. I wish I could read other languages, than I would have so much more knowledge at my hand (but I guess that could be a bad thing).

You're all very welcome.
Don't worry about language. All important information either is or will be translated in to English.

Yeah but what gets lost in translation? Ah I'm just odd. I would love to read things in their orginal language.
