yule recipes...help!!

okay so i am celebrating my first yule this year!! woohoo!! but i was wondering if anyone could offer any recipes and their backgrounds, their importance in Yule, etc? in one of my classes we're having a Winter Solstice party on friday (because my fps teacher isn't christian or anything) so i thought it would be appropriate to bring in some yule food, but i need to be able to explain where it came from and why it's used...i was thinking about gingerbread men or something bu i'm not sure. all help would be appreciated!!!!
