Hello! all you wonderfully mystic people. Some time ago while shopping at 'Waterstones' in Manchester, I bought a sort of starter pack of something called. 'The Celtic Book of the Dead'. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Is it used in the same way as 'tarot'? And does it do what it's supposed to do? Thanks! :RuNew:

hmm..not really familiar with this "deck", but it may be an oracle deck rather than a true tarot deck. Does it have the standard 78 cards divided into the Major and Minor Arcana with the 4 suits in the Minor Arcana? Did it come with any kind of guide book? There are a few decks on the market that are meant to be used as a meditation tool and don't really offer any sort of divinatory meanings for the cards. An oracle deck will definitely work as a divinatory tool. You may need to experiment a bit and develope a rapport with the cards in order to use them effectively.

That's an oracle deck, consisting of 42 cards. I can't say for sure if they work the same way as Tarot as I'm not really sure myself how Tarot works (and I've been using Tarot for 10 years!), however any divination system is only used to tap into your own intuition and psychic abilities so it doesn't matter what system you use as long as you feel comfortable with it.
