I think so too! So happy Yule!!!!! The winter solstice is officially 2:04 A.M EST on December 22. So it depends on where you are. That equates to 11:04 P.M tonight here on the west coast. Happy Yule to all where ever you are!!!!!!!!!

Happy Yule a bit late. I did get to have a small celebration with my kids yesterday afternoon. I wasn't sure if I was going to get the chance, but I did. :)

Happy Yule everyone!! :colorful:
We celebrated yesterday by seeing the sunrise, opening presents, and having a nice family togetherness kind of day. The time zones can make the solstice happen on one "day" in one area vs. another because the solstice happens at one moment in time, so at that time it can be "tomorrow" in another part of the world. For instance, right now, it is already Wednesday the 24th already in eastern Australia.
The day didn't start out well, my wife had early contractions, and we went to the hospital. They subsided. (Whew)! After that, we found a SE facing window to see the sunrise (our plan had originally been to drive to an overlook). That window happened to be in the same room in which our first child was born! So that was cool. The rest of the day was great, we opened our presents, had a leisurely day, etc. Oh, and our toddler was so exhausted that he fell asleep during dinner (he wanted to keep eating) . We got some funny footage of that!
Happy Solstice!

ahh, happy late yule everyone! solstice was on the 21st here as well. it's now 5:30 pm tuesday the 23rd, by my clock. i'm on day shift w/o days off, so i couldn't do my usual nightlong (sort of) vigil, but i did manage to get out for the sunrise, which i usually don't. so there was something.
