View Full Version : Does astrology really have that much rule over us?

If so, how do we know for sure? And how does it all work?

Actually astrology has no rule over us at all, anymore than the weather rules us. It explains the psychological climate, that is it. Nobody really knows why it works but over and over it does work quite well. I think the best proof of this is how well it describes complete strangers on internet forums such as this one. Of course, for it to be useful and accurate, you have to look at your whole horoscope. Simply knowing your Sun sign isn't enough.

But again the "why?" question is not always answered in life as easily as "how?" or "what?" or "who?". We know for a fact that the Moon does exert power over human's and animal's emotions, and in astrology it is assumed that even Pluto has it's pull on us.

Hope this helps,

Thank you, it does help a little, but I still do not understand completely or have a lot of faith in it. I do have some, but I don't really know what to think of it.

Have you ever had your chart done? You can go to www.astro.com and get a free scope drawn up to get started. They have good interpretations as well, but not as good as having a live person look at your chart because computers can't combine a bunch of information together and see the whole, they can merely describe all the parts.

speaking of the moon.....
I've read that your sun sign is the you you show other's and your moon sign is the you you are inside...

Does that sound right to you RedRose?

Yes, that is basically right. Your Sun is your personality, your outward projection, and your Moon is your emotions and inner realms. It is very important to nurture both your Sun and Moon. Sometimes this isn't easy because they can have conflicts between them (squares, oppositions...). For instance, my Sun is in my 10th House (career) oposite my Moon in my 4th House (home). This means I need to get out and have a career but I want to stay home and be cozy. So working from home, or working in other people's homes are my best bets. I also have North Node (my soul's agenda) conjunct Venus in the 8th House, so I am here this life to deal with the big mysteries (8th House -birth, death, sex, the mystical/occult, energy work, meditation and transformation). As it turns out, as well as doing astrology, which I do at home, I have returned to doing hospice work where I help people die gracefully in the comfort of their own homes.

In your case, Flora, your very idealistic and dreamy Pisces Sun needs to be of great service and do humble work (in the 6th House) and your more practical Capricorn Moon needs to be building something lasting - your heart (Moon) needs to make a difference in the area of children, social life, the arts, and fun (5th House). Your Sun and Moon work well together. Your North Node is in the 1st House, so at the soul level, you are here to deeply understand and accept your Self and the Self of all beings.

Well, you are just way too cool! :D

And thanks for putting my mind at ease with the moon sign, cause in some books it points toward Aquarius, yet when reading an Aquarius moon sign speel, it does not sound like me at all.

I have an Aunt who's Aquarius, Love her to death, but I don't precieve myself as Aquarius...

My Head may be in the clouds & dreamy at times, but i feel I am fairly grounded, as best I can be considering.... ;)

I haven't gotten my chart done, but I'll do that. Thanks!

Great Shining Star,

If you can post it over here, I, and others, will be glad to take a look at it and give you some feedback.
