I've got a lovely IBM R40 ThinkPad laptop. Love it to death. It's got Windows XP and all the bells and whistles. Bit expensive as we're getting from a rent to own place, but identity theft has killed my credit so I couldn't really get it any way else. It's worked just fine since I got it, no problems at all. Except one. It's always been a bit irritating to get online, have to fiddle with the phone cord to finally get it to connect right. Well, Tuesday it finally decided to completely quit on me, no dial tone AT ALL. Found out it's because the phone line port into the modem has one itty-bitty wire that broke. Grrrrr...... So I had to take it in. Luckily it's free to get it fixed, they'll send it in, replace the port and voila, good as new. They even gave me a loaner to tide me over until I get mine back. Except that the loaner they gave me didn't work at all. So I had to go back and get another loaner. This one works just fine. It's the same model as mine so it's nothing to get used to, but it's still NOT MY COMPUTER! I had mine set up exactly the way that I wanted. I can't wait to get mine back.

Grrrr... Well, guess that means I must find some poor, innocent soul to take my wrath out on. Hmmmm... Now, question is where do I find one of those?

I hate it when something is different about my comp. I'm very anal about the computer.
Good luck.

It could be worse.
At least they'll fix it at no charge.
You'll have your computer back soon enough.
Don't forget to delete all the temp files you load on the loaner!! ;)

You mean, as there are no innocents here? Or no souls?

Well I certainly have a soul. And if I truly am Satan then I have many of them. :smoke: But, I want more.
