I stumbled across this while looking up stuff about Iceland (because IcelandAir is offering a trip to Iceland for less than $400 & I've never been there). It does not go right to that item; you have to wait for the 'Go Iceland' site to download, then click on the '4000 Enroll in Elf School' link.

I wasn't sure if this should go here or in Just Silly.

I would go if I was in Iceland, personally I think it's good that Icelanders haven't lost touch with some of their folk traditions.
The elves they're talking about are usually called alfs and there are two main kinds the light alfs which are bright spirits ruled over by Freyr and mound alfs which are male ancestors who watch over their descendants, the disir are the female variant of mound alfs. There are also land and house wights(spirits) which are very important in folk belief. The alfs, disir, various wights are also very important in Heathenry and many of us give them daily offerings.
I could go on and on this is one of my favorite subjects. I'm glad I got to share a little.

I adore that! I'd really like to go to Iceland and see these elf sites. And I've always wanted to see a faerie mound. One-a-these days...

Not Icelandic. I'm more interested in Anglo-Saxon and continental Germanic Heathenry, but most of the primary source information on Heathenry, like the Eddas and many of the sagas, come from Icelandic sources, so you do end up learning about Iceland whether or not that's the type of Heathenry you practice.
