Hi-
Suggestions are welcome - my wife and I are expecting our son to be born by Imbolc (though with all the premature contractions, it may be sooner!!!).
We are making a list of names to pick from, and want a "normal" sounding name, but unusual enough that he isn't just another Tom or Jim.
Suggestions?
Thanks-

I wanted to name my son that.
His name is Sam, because he was born on Samhain. I decided not to name him after his holiday, because he does, after all, have to live in the world.

I've heard it said that we take on the characteristics of our names. My oldest is Aaron - which means priest or prince - and he does think he is god.....
My middle one is Adam, "man of red earth." Very macho....
The youngest is Jesse, which means wealthy. He has always had money and is also blessed with a multitude of talents which bring him other blessings.

We're trying to choose a name for our baby, also due around Imbolc! This is our third baby, and I have to say, it's been the hardest of the three for which to choose a name! Here's a list of the favorites we've worked with! Best of luck choosing and sending healthy birthing and baby vibes to you and your wife!
Zane
Duncan
Lysander
Raiden
Vaughn
Adrian
Felix
Leander
Morgan
Ezra
Kai
Sorry, I know there's a lot there...see why we're having problems? We basically try to choose with the same idea you've got...not too unusual, but not every day common either!

Xander is an awesome name, mainly because I've only known cool Xanders and it has an X in it. Colin's a cool name too, although all the Colin's I know are a-holes. I like Dylan too, and Per (sounds like pear). Rosco is a nice name, but it doesn't fit everyone. Those are my top choices for names, granted they're all name's of my buddies but only the ones who's names I like.

Our little guy was born in May, 2003. I found it very easy to make a list of 20 or 30 names....but, the *hard* part was choosing amongst the final 2 or 3. It took us ages.
We got down to Brocas (means badger), and, Bramwell (dweller by the bramblebush stream) . Then there was middle names!
Anyway, he ended up as Bramwell Corwin Oscar.
I also liked Rohan, and had a thing for Mordred for a bit, but my partner was a bit loathe to use that name for obvious reasons!
I found most of our names by typing "baby names" into Google and going through all the sites...there's some very good ones.
Good luck and congrats on the little one! :)
