View Full Version : "Supernatural things"

Here is just a little rambling:
In talking to some friends over the weekend about supernatural forces got me thinking.
Personally, when I think of supernatural things, what comes to mind is not what normally comes to ones' mind when the word supernatural is used. Things that come to my mind are man-made things. (cars, tv, etc.) Things like ghosts, ESP, faeries.. These things to me are all natural. I feel that these things are just as natural as the trees, the ocean, flowers. What is supernatural to me are things that I don't think naturally occur. I am a scientifically savy person, but there are things that science will never be able to prove or disprove. This is where my magickal belief comes in... So far I have not had any complications between the two. They actually in my way of thinking compliment each other rather well. What are your thoughts on the subject?

I have never thought of supernatural things being cars and other man-made objects. I can see what you are saying and to me at least it makes perfect sense. Obviously you will not find a Ford F-150 in the woods next to a pine tree. You have definitely given me a thought to ponder and I will let you know if I have any further thoughts on the matter that may make more sense or be a little more in depth than what I just posted. :)

I think of those things as "unnatural". Yet, I have also learned that what is often considered "supernatural" can usually be that which is perfectly natural when accepted. This includes psychic powers, divinatory talents, the ability to affect through use of will and focus, etc. Some suggest that these abilities were forced to be hidden by those with motives of gaining money through forcing people to stop recognizing their own divinity. Whether this is true or not cannot be proven, but I highly encourage people to tap back into that divinity!

...well, not unless it's an extended cab...
...sorry, I've been relatively serious all morning, & it had to happen, sooner or later...

My thing is.
How can something be "supernatural" if we're all made up of the same stuff??

I was talking about what is considered supernatural by most people. I was trying to make an analogy and I don't think that it came out right. I was trying to say that I don't find "supernatural" things to be "supernatural" because to me they are perfectly natural.

I define supernatural as things that are natural, only more so...like for ex: strong - superstrong, natural - supernatural. Things like cars & machinery & man-made things I term as Unnatural. Meaning that they are not objects found in nature in that particular state. Things like a great old tree or childbirth - that's what I would term as supernatural. Things like ghost, ESP, faeries...whether they're supernatural would depends on how I feel about them.
