To experience what a chakra feels like, try the following exercise.

Sit comfortably with your hands pushed straight out in front of you, elbows straight. Turn one palm downward and one palm up. Quickly with repeated motions, open and close your fists tightly, as fast and for as long as you comfortably can. Switch the positions of your palms and repeat until your hands are tired.

Drop your arms, open your fists and bring your palms together slowly, moving them together and out again. Do you feel a ball of energy between your hands? If you tune in closely, you can feel the spinning. These are your hand chakras, a smaller version of your spinal chakras.

I have been meditating on and off for years. What I seem to have the most trouble with is that I never *see* anything. I can sense things, like if I am walking through a forest, I can sense animals, and sense the way it smells, but see? Not a chance! Or if I am seeing a ball of light, I sense the energy, but never actually see light.

Is this something that will get better with constant practice? Like I said, I meditate on and off. Or is it just that maybe some people can't visualize as well as others? And last, is there a med. technique that I could do to improve my visualization skills?

Thanks!
Chris

Yeah I would say it comes with practice and also some people are better at visualising than others.

I for starters found it very easy to visualise but found it took a lot longer to get that sence of awareness you said you feel.

I think its different for everyone. But your visualisation will improve with practice.
Try setting an hour aside once a week at the same time and day and do a meditation then. I found that having a shedule was really good as you know that that hour is your hour.

Obviously dont limit yourself to that hour and if you cant meditae dont force it.

Another example of the differences in "seeing" things is with reading Tarot. I "see" vivid images etc and haev to try and explain them whereas a Friend "hears" voices or thoughts that help her understand the meanings of the cards.

So it is deffinatly different for everyone.

Just practice. Also dont force anything. Ive found the more you try to force it the less you get and as soon as you relax and just let it take its cource things work much more smoothly.

An analogy of a clenchid fist with sand escaping it comes to mind, but Im going to stop waffuling

Blessed Be

I sense things but don't see them as well, but I've just decided that sensing them is useful too. For example sensing your friend's aura and being able to visualize it without actually physically seeing it in my opinion is as good as seeing it... :)

Here is a quick meditation, i tried it and it seamed to increase my energy quite a bit.

step 1:Sit in zen style with palms facing down on your thighs.
Breathe into your stomach, as u do that, feel and imagine a white/any color light entering your crown and going down spine to hara line(3 to 5 cm below navel). See the light collect there and expand to fill ur whole body.
Now as u breathe out expand that light even more to fill first the room then the earth then infinity.
Breathe in and out in this way however many times u want until u are ready for the next step.
step 2 : now, raise your hands to just above chest level in a prayer position palms together. Breathe in through your hands(between your hands) and see the light travel to your hara line once again and let it fill your body.
When done ,return hands to your thighs, this time palms facing up.Now is the time for complete mindlessness.(don't think of anything, just be in the present).

When done, slowly bring yourself back and thats it!.

.....Oooops. Did i say this was a quik meditation? :D

Gentle breezes.
