:RuNew: Hi there, i'd just like to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I am batty bat, which judging by my state of mind most of the time is very appropriate!! I am a Goth with purple hair, but for most of the time i am an outdoor loving Hedgewytch, wellies and dungarees are the usual attire here. I have a huge interest in herbs and have 3 herb gardens within my garden and have plans for more, i am really interested in the historical use of herbs, but also i make my own herbal charm bags and incense with much of what i grow. I am mad keen on animals too i have 2 BIG dogs, 6 cats (all home cats that won't go outside!) a marine fish tank and a Gecko, so much of my time is taken uo with them. I am disabled, wonky legs i fear, but i do voluntary work for a local disability group and spend much of my time crafting, beading is my fave, but with this many cats it can be a bit crazy. ANyway i'd love to chat with anyone out there about anyting really, so hope to hear from you soon.
Bright Blessings Batty Bat xx

Welcome and Merry Meet. My significant other was born in North Hamptonshire. He has lived in the States all his life, so he does not have that wonderful accent. His Mother however does. She is a bit daft to say the very least. I am drawn to the UK for some reason. I myself have not been there in this life.....but I feel I lived there in a past life. :colorful:

Merry Meet!
Your herb garden sounds absolutely wonderful! I'd love to get one started myself, but I haven't quite gotten to it yet. We have a wooded lot = a lot of shade, so it's not great for growing stuff.
So, :welcome: to Mystic Wicks! Glad you decided to join us! I think you're gonna love it here!

Hi yeah Goth's rule!! Well kinda, i'm sure if we could be bothered we would! I heard a saying the other day "trying to organise pagans is like trying to herd cats" how very true. Well how about you, what are you into? What do you do? all the usual blerby questions. Today here it's rainy and miserable so i'm stuck in the house, booooo, but i'm just lighting my open fire and catching up with some of the witchy books i got as Yule gifts.
Take Care
Love Batty Bat xx

Oh wow a wooded place, how magical is that. My herb gardens are my babies, but i went out this morning to find the frost has caught some of them, bit sad, but with some love and mulch they should all spring back up again. I have a large scrap area of land at the top of my garden which we are planning to turn into an orchard type area this year, it is under a huge Poplar tree so a bit shady, i plan to have lots of natural plants there and a seating area, i was trying to get my husband to build me a hobbit hole to retreat into (i am really short!) but i think i will have to make do with a childrens play shed to lurk in!! I would like to have a solitary area to work in. If you like i will dig out some photos of my herb gardens and post them to you. Anyway best go dogs and cats and a lizard to attend to, i hope to hear from you again Bright Blessings batty batXX

hiya, welcome to MW! about the herb garden thing, i dont have a garden, so no herbs there im fraid! my kitchen window does harvest all the usual little gems for cooking tho - parsley, sweet basil etc, oh and my mini bonsi that was born into this world only 2 months ago, and being carefully nurtured (sorry bout the spelling) into a young adult. i feel my newest edition will be valeria. if you ever want to swap tips, feel free!

Hi there Goddess Rhiannon, is that your car? It is mega fantastic, purple is my fave colour. Yup people acuse me of sounding like a country bumpkin, my husband is London born and bred and at times finds my accent and sayings really funny. Is there any part of the UK you feel particuarly drawn to? I feel as if Cornwall is my home for some reason, i always feel at peace there, even though we went at Yule and my car was broken into! I have been to the USA once, you know the usual Florida holiday, which was fab, but i'd have loved to have seen more of the country in respect to some of the fabulous scenery i see on all the holiday programs, sadly i don't travel very well anymore, but if i ever win the lottery it is on my list!! Anyway Bright Blessings to you Love and Hugs Batty Bat xx

Hi Sanc, thank you, can't wait to get chatting to all those fantastic folks out there, sadly here the pagan community is a bit on the sad side, there is nothing much in my area of the country. My friend and i started a group up once, which went really well until we got hit by the cloak flappers and anti anything other than christianity brigade, then sadly it diminished. Fingers got burnt and it has taken me about a year to gather the courage to chat again. Bright Blessings Batty Bat xx

Hey yeah that would be great. I have 3 quite large herb gardens and grow a fair ammount of different herbs as well as the usual suspects. This year i'm going for a Mandrake and a Patchouli, but they wil have to live in the greenhouse. I am hoping for a good crop of Angelica this year, last year was it's first year and it was too young to be used, but this year i hope to be making candied Angelica and cough syrup. I made horehound and rosehip cough sweets last year, which terrified all my friends into not having colds!! Anyway i won't rattle on, but hope to hear from you again
