MANDEVILLE -- An $8,000 reward is being offered for leads in apprehending the killer who took the life of a Northshore mother in an apparent attempt carjacking gone awry.

Authorities are also looking at surveillance tapes from the shopping center where 25-year-old Samantha Jaume was prior to driving home with her four children on July 4.

A St. Tammany Sheriff’s spokesman says they’re looking to see if they can spot Jaume’s car leaving the area, and whether or not anyone appears to be following her.

Authorities believe that Jaume was killed when the suspect attempted to follow her into the family home, possibly to steal her vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early twenties with short hair. He was said to be wearing a gold medallion and a multi-colored hat. Authorities believe he may have had some gold teeth as well.

Subject: I'm new as a state chair and have been MIA for the last week because

The daughter-in-law of my Wiccan Pastor Rev. Velvet Rieth was murdered in her own home in front of her 4 children on the 4th of July. Contrary to the listed article, this was not a botched car-jacking and all of the children witnessed this. The murderer is still at large. Please pull up the article and if you are so inclined focus on the composite sketch of the murderer for him to be caught alive. We want him alive so that he can tell who ordered this hit. This is really important. The family is devastated, and we are also as we knew this wonderful couple really well.

Mairwen fwd'd it from the Pagan unity Campaign list

Please find the picture below of the suspect.

Please pray for the children, family and friends of this woman, and for the arrest of her killer.

Blessings
Kaylara

And thank you Mairwen!

i realise there's not much chance of him turning up here but i've put that sketch in my permanent files any way and will print it and tape it to my dashboard. may i suggest you try to get it on "amw", it's the sort of case john seems to like and every bit of exposure you can get could help get justice for this family.

and i agree, it sounds more like a hit than a carjacking.

Just a side note...better not mention to John that the mother in law is a wiccan reverend...he debuted a 'witch-hunt' a couple of weeks ago on AMW and I don't think he'd look to kindly on this story, no matter how tragic, unfortunately :(

i'm going to forward the sketch to a few of my cop friends in NYC. You never know if he came up here to hide, especially in the South Bronx, where I have 2 very good friends on the force.

The family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Just a head's up Good heads up, Rae. I think we'd all be so sorry to have this story turned down by AMW on a stupid uneducated technicality.

Kaylara, is there any more news on this? Your friends are in my prayers. This is truly tragic.

With a heavy heart,
Wyrdsister

i'm a natural skeptic, after having been suckered too many times to pray for various missing/murdered/beaten/scammed/etc women/children/kids/pets/etc, so i *always* double-check stories like this before i go forwarding warnings and requests for help.

unfortunately, i can't find a peep on the net about this crime through altavista, northerlights, or even google.

anyone know where i can find another site giving more information about this crime? until then, i don't feel right sending out the picture of a man who may be a criminal, or just the victim of a rather cruel setup.

i hope you all understand.

Just to let anybody know who's curious, I have met Velvet and Stephanie, so they're real people, and yes, this really happened, as terrible as it is. Mandeville is not far from New Orleans.
