I'm still learning so much about diet, and excercise, and mental, and herbal aids to getting pregnant...but..I heard of these a while back.

First of all...Almonds are a very old fertility aid. That is why at weddings, they pass out Jordan Almonds in favors so often.

Apples, are also considered a great fertility aid.

For MALE potency...Acorns (though i wouldn't reccomend eating them, one might make a talisman including some Acorns)

And of course, a wonderful fertility "symbol" if you will, is an egg.

So...if you wish to conceive a child (and, I cannot garuntee the effectiveness of this, since I am still not pregnant...:( )

Watch your ovulation schedule....Plan a romantic dinner with your mate, though you should be careful to make it a light meal, one that won't make him sleepy after)...

Include in your meal something with almonds (green beens almondine?..or some dessert)..and something with apples, preferably spiced with cinnamon and cloves (they're very lusty herbs).

Before the meal, take an egg, and paint it with a fertility symbol. A rabbit, a sow, a venus of willendorf type thing (if you are very talented), a phallus...baby booties, what have you, whatever would represent your goal in your mind. And place it on your altar.
(if you have cats, be careful. i did this spell around beltane, and my cats got a hold of the egg, and knocked it onto the floor, where it splattered.). Light a Green candle, and a Red candle (both of which are associated with Fertility magick)....and then go about your romantic evening.

It is necessary, of course, or at least VERY beneficial, to be ovulating during this time.

When you and your mate have fulfilled your..umm....well..you know...go outside, and take the egg with you. If you have an oak tree, you might try burying the egg there, amidst the roots of the oak tree.

If you cannot find an Oak tree, simply find a spot where there is good, rich soil. If you have a garden, which is very well tended, try burying it there. Because it is a place where things grow..so...it should work sympathetically.

Oh..one more thing..when you make the apple dish...try saving the apple seeds, and bury them along with the egg :)

PS...from that point on, try carrying a geode around with you, or as a piece of Jewlery. Geodes are protective talismans for pregnant women. So if you DO conceive that night, it might help you to carry the child to term. I know many of us feel that we actually HAVE become pregnant several times, but then, our moon flow comes. This is known to happen. SO many pregnancies are miscarried so early on, it is almost undetectable to us that we were ever pregnant to begin with.

I know of a couple who created an altar specifically for the child they wanted to concieve. They got exactly what they wanted but I don't know if they were having fertility problems.

I would then suggest you create an altar for your fertility. What you do with it would be personal to you and hopefully make lots of magick!

A bit OT but it's always possible to set up an altar for a specific meaning - whether it be a love altar or a fertility altar or anything else, setting something up and meditating or spending time in front of your altar can help out - it's magick in and of itself! :)

Merry Merry,
It is a collage... made with scanned pics of of actual sculptured pieces of a series called "THE DOLMEN MOTHERS".
My closest and dearest friend in real life did them the same year I went to Stonehenge for solstice, in 1999. She is a World Class Artist, has had her work in the Arts and Crafts division of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and has her work in several shops in Annapolis here in Maryland. She is also a graduate of the Esoteric Temple of Sancta Sophia, which she attended for four years and is now a Priestess. She has since done an entire series of chalices rattles and other beautiful things, which I am working on getting pics of and scanning for a website and Womens Artists collab online, another extremely talented dear friend of mine from Nova Scotia is doing.
We are very excited:>; both of our work, along with other other artists will be there .
I will let you know when its ready. In the meantime let me post a simple pic of some of her work. Her online name is Tanis............(an early mother :> )
Her work of the "MOTHERS" also corresponds to her own pregnancies and the birth of her two beautiful daughters, and holds much of that energy of Motherhood, as her work is also very spiritual in nature, so is actually very powerful for contemplation and visualation, and tapping into those energies.

Danustouch,

If you're having trouble with conceiving you might like to check into this book, I've heard it comes highly recommended. It's also good for women who are seeking a more natural way of birth control. (It covers getting pregnant, and staying un-pregnant)

Taking Charge of Your Fertility : The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control and Pregnancy Achievement
by Toni Weschler (Paperback - July 1995)

You can find it at amazon.com here:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0060950536/qid=995053700/sr=1-1/ref=sc_b_1/104-1441517-5415923

I've also heard a great recommendation of constructing a "pregnancy" altar, or "Fertility altar" You could set one up as an idea for "fertility", and then when you get pregnant, you could adapt it into a "pregnancy/childbirth" altar.

I plan on getting the millenial gaia when I set up my fertility/pregnancy altar (it'll be a while yet! hehe). I couldn't think of a better fertility symbol!

Merry Merry,
The GAIA is breathtaking,I have loved that one for a long time , and am inspired to make one of my own..... from that idea..... and one of the best ways to connect with creative and fertile energy would be to indeed get your hands in some clay,, or draw and paint or what ever medium you choose to use,
and make your own so that the energy is connected to YOU :>.

Dear Swan,

Yes..I absolutely ADORED the statue!!!!! I am going to ask my hubby to order it for me early (umm..WAY early,) for Yule. She is beautiful!

Thank you all for your hints (the meditation pictures, book resources, and website resources). I appreciate it! I will be incorporating many of them into my regime. (Gods..so odd, refering to trying to get pregnant as a regime. I hereby VOW never to use that term again, in this topic..LOL)

Meanwhile..do any of you have any specific spells that you've heard of to help in this endeavor? Or any other gems/herbs/talismans one might use?

????
