View Full Version : Money troubles are the worst thing...

I'm in a bit of a panic, and, oddly enough, my first reflex was to come here. My dad's company is doing layoffs for the very simple reason that they are purely, indescribably evil. Chances are, we're in some deep and stinky bovine product. The thing praying on my mind first and foremost is school and the absurd 53 hundred it's going to cost for me and my baby sister to attend next year. I was in a personal hell until I started going there (yes, even though it's a private catholic school) and it totally changed my life. The halls, the teachers, the classmates, the friends, my kindreds...what will I do without them? I have some deep bonds going here and I'd be so lost without my loves! I'm getting a job and will pay my own tuition if I have to-I have a friend who's offered to sell my art for me, too. I've never been one to worry about money, and now It's filled my mind. I don't know what to do, But I'm praying. I feel better already, thank you for listening to me ramble in my silliness. :)
Wish me luck!

...no, Merrie, money troubles are bad, but not the worst. Losing a child, or parent... THAT'S the worst.
Hang in there. It's good that you're willing to work for what you want. Make's me proud of you. (I'm serious.)

It can be very hard, but try to stay focused and remain in prayer. Blessings to you Merrie....

I should really think before I type, sometimes. I know that in many respects, I've been very lucky. I have my family, my friends, a safe home, my life, my health...I know I've been blessed. I'm only human, though, and I tend to forget in times of trouble. Thanky for the reminder, Rick!
And thank all of you for your replies, it's really uplifting. :)
PS- Rick- Glad to know I'm someone to be proud of. Thanks again. :D

The best of luck to you Merrie. I am also a student and also know how hard it can be financially. It is definitely worth it in the end and I'm sure it will all work out. BB. :)

I was thinking the same - no the worst is having sick family or friends or losing them, especially since I had to go to a funeral today. However, I know how you feel, I'm only getting to go to college now thanks to government student loans. Otherwise I would've been stuck flipping burgers for the rest of my life. So I totally understand why school is so important to you. Why not ask the Goddess to help you find a way to stay in that school if she thinks its where you should be? The Gods are always willing to help, and you know you can do anything if you set your mind to it!! Good luck!

You are someone to be proud of, Merrie. And I coulda pointed your blessings out to you, but it's better that you remember them on your own.
That said, allow me to refer you to the 'Practical Rune Magic I' thread in the Magick forum. It's to remove "need". Give it a look...

I'm proud of you too Merrie! You show how valuable your education is to you and that is a quality I hope my children have.
You could look into getting a scholarship through the school. They do grant them to families who find themselves suddenly in a bind.
