I was just talking to my best friend about death....and my views on it. I was going on and on....before I realized it, she said "i have to go take a shower (sounding like she was crying) and hung up".
I called her brother to see what was going on, and he said that a close relative of theirs died only a week or so ago. Mind you, she is severely afraid of death to begin with....
Anyhow, I tried to call her back to talk about it, she said that she had no desire to talk about it, and that she'd like to deal with it on her own. I see this as unhealthy...but that's cause I like to talk my problems out (she does not!).
Sooo...what I'm asking is, is there anything I can say to her (I have never lost anyone close to me), or should I not press the matter and leave her to deal with this on her own? Would anything I said matter anyway?
....She is a Catholic who converted to be a Protestant. So, she doesn't believe in reincarnation so to speak...which leaves me at odds because I do...so what I say doesn't help anyhow!
Advice?
Thanks for any help

Don't beat yourself up too much, you didn't know! She probably needs to deal with this on her own for a bit. I imagine you've already apologized for upsetting here, even though she asked and you just shared your opinion. Just be available when she's willing to talk to you again.
