View Full Version : Is it adrenaline, or is it a power within?

When I'm threatened into an unescapable fight, a surge of strength just ripples through me. Suddenly I'm able to move with fluid ease. Even if my glasses are knocked off my body moves with precision as if I had 20/20 vision. Pain doesn't register till hours later. I can almost feel a static charge in the air. I can't even feel my heartbeat. I feel weightless. Sweat just shrieks out of my body and I fight like I'm a beast, not a human.

But that's only when I end up fighting someone against all attempts to just walk away in peace. What's with this though? To me it seems like an adrenaline high. But something's telling me there's more to it. The last time I was in a fight I had never banged up a person so hard before. The guy needed help walking, he couldn't see straight, and the guy was forced to shave his head so he wouldn't have to reveal the nasty scar I left on it. His hands were swollen from where his fists hit my cheekbones. The worst he gave me was a bruise on my cheek. But I know he was aiming for my eye.

Thinking back to it is what brought up this pondering. It's 3:30 in the morning over here so I'm a wee bit tired and out of it so don't mind me really. I'm probably going to wake up to this tomorrow and be like "Um...why did I...post this?" LOL

Wow, that's pretty interesting.

It sort of strikes me as a "Fight or Flight" response at first, but there's no reason it couldn't be a combination of Fight or FLight plus something else.

Maybe you are experiencing a past life memory as a fighter and just going with the flow? :)

I would think that's the epitome of adrenaline rush anyway...

Maybe there's some past life stuff there too but not necessarily. Reminds me of a friend of mine who recently took someone to court - the other person knocked him unconscious with a rock and when he came to his arm was broken. Where do you people live that these vicious fights happen?

I live in a supposedly quaint little surburb of Chicago.

Everyone considers it a ghetto suburb and chances are they're right considering my highschool alone probably has more fights, druggies, dealers, and pregnant teens than all the other schools in the district. During my freshman year a dealer was being chased through the school. During my junior year, XTC was being dealt throughout the school like it was candy. And during my senior year, another kid was busted for possessing over 1000 US dollars worth of marijuana, possession of weapons (about 6 different kinds of knives), 4 different types of marijuana bongs, 3 pipes, and 2 bowls for smoking it. All of that was in his backpack.

The drug thing to me isn't surprising, they seem to exist everywhere; it's the fighting that surprises me... vicious vicious stuff !

Fighting is nothing new for me really. I've been in fights since the first grade and even now I take on people in verbal or physical battle. But I try to stay out of physical fights now.
