This was the only place i could think of to ask this...and I'll try to be the least awkward and bashful as I can be. I skip really bad. I mean extremely. I skipped for four months once, and then got it incredibly heavily. I blacked out and ended up in the hospital for blood loss and dehydration. I almost had to get a blood transfusion, I lost so much!!! I've been okay since, I got it right on time last month...but now I'm late again, even though i had cramps last week and was sure it was coming.*sigh*
I needed to ask if anyone here knows how to regulate it, or if there might be something in my life that's throwing it off course? Is there a spell you can think of to convince my ovaries not to hate me??? :) (This is really awkward for me, I'm blushing something terrible.)Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated, I don't want another little adventure in the ER. I'm also afraid there's something REALLY wrong...and i want desperately to be a mother someday, so I guess this relates to fertility magick. But, again, I worry much too much. Any Ideas?
Thank you muchly, in advance!!! :)

You've probably already considered this, but the pill or other drugs the doc can give you can sometimes regulate it for you. Otherwise, I don't know. Sounds like a right mess and I wish you the best of luck in finding something to alleviate it! Lastly, I can understand your embarassment but we're all friends here willing to listen and help out!

My thoughts are with you.

First thing to consider...is indeed, birth control pills.

Second...have you been getting regular pap smears?

Sometimes, ovarian or uterian cysts can cause this type of behavior.

Another thing..is diet and excercise. These factor heavily into menstruation issues. A person who is not getting proper nourishment, (such as a person with anorexia or bulimia) may have these issues, as well. In fact, many female gymnasts, have said they skip periods, as well.

Now..as for what you can do to help the process. First thing, is make sure you are getting regular gynological exams, and don't be shy to talk to your doctor about it...ask His or her advice on the matter.

Herbally, there are several things you can take. The one which I would suggest first, is Rasberry leaf tea. It is used for strengthening the womb. It can also help to bring on a period that is stalled, if it is not stalled from pregnancy. You can get raspberry leaf tea at most healthfood and holistic food stores. Or order it online.

As I said..there are many other things, herbally, you can take to help this problem. But I would read up on it for yourself...don't take my word for it. There is a wonderful site about herbalism for women...http://www.geocities.com/sister_zeus It might be of help to you. Evening primrose, black cohosh, other herbs are beneficial to womens issues. Check into it.

Drink ALOT of water. This has been noted to have an effect, as well. And make sure you are getting plenty of rest.

Magickally...well...i have a friend who was having the same problem for a while. She came to the decision that her problems with menstruation were because she was out of whack with the lunar cycles. Now..of course, this is all her opinion. I don't know if it's true or not. But..she says that if she missed some full moon rituals, etc, her cycle would get out of balance. So try and make sure you tune yourself into the moon cycles. Also..a big issue is to embrace menstruation as part of being a woman. Do not fear it, or hate it...but embrace it. It is of great power. One thing she did to help this, was start making a ritual out of her menstruation times. She followed her calendar, and on the day she was due for her period, her husband (a wonderful man), would buy her flowers, come home from work, and cook dinner, and draw her a wonderful meditative bath, with candles all around. He would honor her like a queen on that day. If you don't have a partner to help you with this..make sure you honor yourself on that day. Honor yourself as a woman. Meditate on the Goddess...and on things such as fertility..etc.

You might also try carrying around a piece of bloodstone. For sympathetic magickal purposes..and a geode. Geode is a symbol for the womb..as it holds secrets and treasure within it (its that stone which, when split open, hides chrystals)..and bloodstone, is helpful with all problems of the blood.

Good luck, dear.

Has Sister Zeus's site been added to "links" or "resources" by anyone yet? This website has been mentioned a few times here on the board and is an EXCELLENT resource, especially for those looking for info in this section.

I agree with Willow and Danu. Go to the doctor and get on the pill. I used to have the same problem and the doc put me on the pill. Yes, it does have side effects, weight gain, mood swings, etc. but compared to things you aren't ready for I think it's something I can deal with. BTW--I'm one of those people who's a statistic of getting pregnant while on the pill. This was over 10 years ago and there a new ones out, which I started to take last year.

Also, I agree about the lunar cycles. I've noticed that I've had less trouble since I've gotten in sync with the moon.

But definitely go to the dr. and get checked out first before you do anything else. I think I've asked my doc even more embarassing questions and I sold girl scout cookies to the man when I was a kid!!!!!! 8O The worst thing you could do is keep silent because you are embarassed, it could be nothing, then again....

I don't want to scare you, I want you to be safe and healthy. We are all sisters and I want you to know that I care.

In my experience,

I gained a lot of weight and my cup size increased from C to DD as well as my belly getting a li'l bigger...

but now I don't cramp or have PMS.

Instead of PMS I get grouchy during the few days where I normally would ovulate. Kinda strange huh?

How's the search going, Merrie? *hug*
