Linda Goodman, author of Sun Signs, is one of the more popular astrological writers of our time, giving the mainstream more of an interest in the subject... One of her other books, Star Signs was a book she wrote channeled by her relationship with an other-wordly guru... Here's the thing though: in this book she outlined a program of diet and medtitation that she claimed was the key to physical immortality. But the thing is... she's DEAD! Some girl named Crystal has taken over all of her books and a website since then, but nowhere can I find any explanation of what happened to her! I'm just intrigued by this, because if she knew how to keep her Self alive, then how come she's dead? Not saying I really buy her theory, but why is this such a big secret? She also never shared her chart with her readers... all we know is that she's an Aries... Has anyone ever heard anything about this?

I've got two of her books, I think there was some chart or diagram in the back of Gooberz. If I can find it, I'll let you know about it.

I'd also like to know who the missing person is that she kept referring to...I have a feeling she lost a daughter or something? There's poetry and open letters in the begginning of some of her books....or am I way off base, is it something else?

Star Signs is a completely crazy book. I mean NUTS. In it, she explains that English is the original language spoken by God, and that druids are angelic spirits that work to restore the true Godly meaning of words that we speak, IF we do numerology.

Great astrologer, but a whack job.

 I just find it odd that she claims to know the secret to immortality, but her death is like the biggest secret in the world - noone knows exactly how or when! You'll see after awhile how much I delight in irony... and how I /have/ to know everything or it drives me nuts!

I'd agree with you on that... maybe an estranged daughter... but who knows? As Deb pointed out, she was rather...um, eccentric!

personally, ive only read the love signs book and the poetry and depth of meaning in that book brought me to tears everytime i looked at it. ill have to check out the star signs one. i find it funny how people hold assumptions and declare others crazy cuz they lift up notions totally against all 'known history' and 'facts'. =P silly people we are, thinking we somehow can know whats what. must be saturn that causes folks to declare others crazy and therefore discredit all the person said. i spose im only different cuz i think that yall are all equally insane and it just so happens that most of you are crazy along similar enough wavelengths that you can bond together and cast certain others as crazier

I said that Goodman was crazy AND that she was a great astrologer. I didn't "discredit" her astrology in the least. I may call other folks crazy, but I never accuse them of saying things they didn't say.

There used to be a website named after her, not sure if it's the same one you're referrring to, said Linda had died of complications due to diabetes when she was in her late 60's, years ago.

There are rumors that shed gone completley insane at the end of her life, that the last manuscript she turned in was scribblings.

Then there's another rumor that she renounced all her beliefs at the end, her death certificate did just verify the diabetes, though.

She'd lost a daughter, yes, they never found her, Linda searched for years for her, the case is still a mystery.

Where did you find all that? I've only seen her "official" website and you can't even go to parts of it unless you "subscribe". Thanks for the info! :)

Wow, that's more info than I've ever heard about her. I didn't even know it was diabetes!

Found it again, yeah, at www.linda-goodman.com

Then scroll down to the bottom, click on "enter here", then that'll take you to the main forum page, there's a seperate forum called "Linda's Life" that I got most of that from.

Never met her, wish I had, glad there's other fans of her work around.

Wow... I don't know if this is the same site I went to or not, because it was a long time ago... I think the one I went to was LindaGoodman.net... which now leads to this site. It never had a message board or anything before... all it had was a newsletter and stuff you'd get if you paid a fee... Now it's LindaLand! I'll have to check it out this weekend when I have more time... I love any discussions having to do with astrology. :D Thanks again!
