I was just wondering if there was a difference between the Oracles of the Faerie and the Faeries Oracle?? My husband just bought me, my very first deck.....I had hinted at wanting one but never asked him outright. He brought home The Faeries' Oracle (Brian Froud). I love the art work they are the most beautiful things i have ever seen. So far I have had an instant bond with them. Is this normal?
If you have this deck..... how was it for you to connect with it? Did you find it difficult and would you suggest it for someone who is a "NEWBIE"?
hope to hear from you all soon

Hi Spitfire!
Not sure which other faerie deck you're asking about, but here are a few for you to look at:
Faerie's Oracle by Froud: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/faerieoracle/index.html
Fairy Ring Oracle by Franklin & Mason: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/fairy-ring/index.html
Healing with the Fairies Oracle by Virtue: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/healing-faeries/index.html
Those 3 are Oracle decks, the following are Tarot decks:
Fairy Tarots by Lo Scarabeo: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/tfairy/index.html
Fey Tarot by Lo Scarabeo: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/fey/index.html
The Brian Froud "Faerie's Oracle" is a very nice deck. I enjoy it alot. It's not a tarot deck, but it should be a good way to introduce you to divination and also introduce you to the Fae themselves. They're alot of fun once you get used to them. ;)

Thanks ..... I am becoming very comfortable with my new deck. I can already look at some of the cards and know what the meaning is without looking to see what the book says. I think Im gonna LOVE this deck. I think I was a little confused between the tarot cards and these but no matter.
Again thank you for your input. Hope to hear from others soon.

I'm not sure which deck that is ... don't have it myself. But if the pictures talk to you then it's perfect!
Congratulations on your new deck! What a wonderful gift from your hubby! (What a sweetie!)

LisaT4P.... what kind of spread do you use for this kind of deck? There are a few in the book i am learning but was wondering what you use and how long you have been using this deck?
Thanks again......

I generally used just a one card pull, asking "Which faerie wants to speak to me today?" I never really got any deeper into it than that. It was difficult for me to get answers with it. I don't think I was listening to them. I do still have the deck and I plan on getting back to the faeries eventually. I was mostly focused on tarot though. And now I'm working on runes. But I'm sure they'll call me back to them.
With any deck (IMHO) it's best to start simply. Just a quick 3 card "past, present, future" or "mind, body, spirit" reading. That way you don't get too confused by too much input all at one time.
Have you done the exercises at the front of the book? Those are alot of fun! They also give you really good insights as to where you are right now and can give you direction on where you need to go and what you need to look into some more.

I have done the exercises about the card that I feel most uncomfortable looking at, the card that is the most pleasing to me, and then the pull of the unknnown card.
After pulling those cards and answering the questions from the book i looked at each card and a few of them touched me very deeply. I have also started a Journal and a daily pull just to get to know them. When I pull the card for the day I say, "Hello (name of faery) My name is Angela and i would like to get to know you, please introduce yourself to me in some way today." Then for the rest of the day i take not of odd things that happen around me, subtle jestures things like that. At the end of the day I ask the same faery for dreams or visions from him or her to better myself and to know when they are trying to tell me something. I tell them good night and thank them for taking time to share the day with me.
Do I sound Crackers to you? Noone told me to do this I just kind of made it up as i went along. I know that you cant tell me if that is right or wrong but how does it sound to you? guess only time will tell...right
Anyway thank you and nice to meet and talk with you.
Bright Blessings

That sounds like a fantastic idea! I love the idea of introducing yourself to the faeries! Isn't it great when your intuition takes over and tells you what to do? Keep doing it. I think it's a great way to work with those cards. I especially like that you thank them and say goodnight. People may think I'm crazy too, but the faeries are around, and they appreciate it when you're polite. They like to hide things on you, so it's best to be nice and not give them any reason to mess with your stuff, LOL :D
I looked all over for a bottle of shampoo one night and when I finally went back into the bathroom where I started it was sitting in the middle of the bathtub. So, no, I don't think you're "crackers". LOL

i think the faeries in my house have it for my husband. They dont take my things usually his and it makes him very moody...lol I try telling him to chill out and to ask for them back, He thinks im loosing my mind, talking to noone, but the things turn up after a few days, after i have alone time and can freely openly talk with my new friends. Something tells me they are trying to teach him some patience. and boy does he need those!!! LOL.
Have a great day.
