I've just moved into my new house which has enough garden for me to have a little herb garden. (It's got 6 acres - should be about enough, don'tcha think??!!)
I will need to plant in pots, as the land used to be intensively farmed (therefore may still be full of chemicals, or not very fertile at all!!)
Can anyone suggest herbs that would survive outside in the N of England (gets down to about minus 5 deg C each winter and very windy), or some that would be better indoors? I was thinking Rosemary, Lavender and Mint for outside, and basil for indoors but that's as far as I got!!
If you had a top ten herb list that you feel are really important to grow, what would it be?
I am going to have a trawl through the posts for info too, but if anyone can get me started I would be most appreciative!
