Athena for wisdom? Air for creativity? A quartz to help you focus and store ideas? Y'know I vaguely remember a spell to help do homework and study, it might be applicable if I can find it. It involved a walnut I think...

Carrying sage is said to be wisdom (source : http://www.ecauldron.com/herblesson.php). There are some simple spells for wisdom and productive schoolwork at http://members.fortunecity.com/rabbitwitch/spells2.html (using sage, and a yellow candle for air; no surprise!). A spell from one of my books suggests winding a silver string 5x around a sage leaf while asking the Goddess of Wisdom for wisdom then keeping the amulet in your pocket.

Suggestion:

Sarasvati is the Goddess of students, writers, and musicians. :)

I also think Sophia would be a good one, as she is the Goddess of wisdom.

There are specific muses that you can chose depending on what style you are writing in. The musus were used specifically for giving inspiration...basically. 'Nuff said, on to the muses!
Is should be noted that many things written, were written in a style of poetry...but for today's usage, you can note that they do not mean poetry like you are thinking of it. So if you are writing a history....Clio is your muse, reguardless of whether you are writing poetry or not. I'd explain...but...I have a headache..lol8O

Thalia: Muse of comedy and pastoral poetry.
Polyhymnia: Muse of the Sacred Hymn.
Melpomene: Muse of Tragedy.
Urania: Muse of Astrology and Astronomy.
Clio: Muse of History and Heroic poetry.
Euterpe: Muse of memory.
Erato: Muse of lyric poetry, particularly love, mimicry, and such things as with an erotic nature.
Terpsichore: Muse of dancing, dramatic chorus, and lyric poetry.
Calliope: Muse of epic poetry, elloquence, and heroic poetry.

They go by other names at times, but these are the nine Muses of Zeus.
Good luck, if all else fails (as if the muses could fail you), ask Athena...Goddess of Wisdom, amongst so much more.
