I was helping someone try to get a pagan group going in our area. Somehow Mol found our Yahoo list and he and Semele and Trey came to our first Meet and Greet.

I didn't find out until much later that they knew Flar. Well, actually, I didn't realize that this was who they were talking about when Semele told me about the patient she had recruited to be a mod.......

I found this site by being bored at work and almost setting my jacket on fire, then came to some random persons personal page on crystals and viola - a link to the magestic mysticwicks was laid before me.

The only people I knew when I got there were my boyfriend and my daughter, I was unemployed and lonely and reaching the end of my rope.

I happened to run a search for Pagans one night and the link came up. I just wanted someone to talk to.:)

I was Googling some info on magical herbs, found a couple of good sites, and then followed a bunch of links, like a trail of breadcrumbs through the forest, that led... HERE! First I lurked for a little while, too - couldn't believe all the information, and how respectful, nice and helpful people are to one another. Most forums I've visited aren't like that at all, and so I lose interest in them very quickly without ever joining in. I've never seen anything else even close to MW. To me, MW is a very special place, made up of all of you incredible people. I love it - thanks for having me here!

Well, let's see. I am Semele's sister so I found out about it really as soon as it was started. Of course, I am a slacker and it only took me three years, I think. Since I have become a member, however, I can't stay off the computer. I always have to see if anyone has posted anything else about... I love the MW family and am so glad I finally came around. I just typed “paganforums.org” into the address bar. I was wondering if there was a Paganforums.org on analogy to Christianforums, and I hit the jackpot. Paganforums.org is, of course, the other domain name for Mystic Wicks.

Now for an anecdote: I couldn’t access Mystic Wicks by typing the Mysticwicks.com address into computers at college. There was an Internet Security page telling me it was on the Denied List. So I thought I was scuppered. Then one day I tried entering through Paganforums.org, and voila, I got in! The fools who composed the Denied List overlooked the other domain name. Talk about finding a backdoor. :D

I found this place a-Googling. I was looking for other message boards and forums because I was unhappy with the other ones I belonged to and how long it took anyone to respond to anything. Well, I got more than I bargained for here, lol. At first I lurked (even though I registered) because I was intimidated by the shear volume of posts here, thought I'd get lost in the shuffle or just never have time to read anything. But once I actually started reading and getting involved, I was more than pleasantly surprised. You guys are awesome and I'm so happy I found this place. It really gives me a sense of belonging, even though we're all scattered around the world.

I was a member of another board and it just seemed like people there were always angry, slamming each other, cussing each other, attacking each other ... and I didn't feel like that that was what a spiritual community should be like.

I wanted to have a place to go to where the people were warm and loving, a community that cared about each other and strived to help each other and ... POOF there was Mystic Wicks!

I found this place through MothersMagic primarily...I had been wondering what on earth Amberlaine was talking about with her title at that time..."Dude, What's a Mol" but i was also chin deep at Mamatron/Hipmama forums and not real happy about the climate at the close...I had also found beliefnet and had grown to respect PB, Windsinger, KBlackthorn, Eric and others but was tired of the tone over there. I wondered in here and liked it. The quality moderation and upbeat tone here hooked me...

He mentioned he thought the knotwork on the type of cross I was wearing could be considered by some to be contradictory, until I mentioned that I believed they were quite complimentary. I missed this the first time around...but feel the need to say how I got to MW. I had just moved from Minnesota, where I was hooked into the pagan community fairly well, to Arizona where I knew no one. (NO ONE!!...Job transfers suck folks.) Anyway a dear Christian friend of mine told me about this place she thought I would like. That it was a positive and growing on line pagan community. Boy was she right!! Frankly, without MW I don't know how I would have survived being here in Arizona. MW was my refuge and in many regards still is one of my favorite places on the planet. The forum was a lot smaller back then as I seem to recall and the comunity was much smaller. It's only in this last year I've really got out and about around the boards more.
