I have a tarot deck on it's way, to be here any day now....but I couldn't wait! lol The last deck I had got lost when we moved :( And I've been without one for almost a year! I ended up at Barnes and Noble last night to browse :D I imediately went to find the tarot cards..and the damn store changed their hours! ' It's 10 pm and Barnes and Nobles is now closed, please bring your purchases to the cashier'..DAMMIT! I was still looking at the selection, couldn't decide, and the manager sees me..and with the snootiest look (like, 'oh great a weirdo in the tarot section') comes up 'can I help you with something? I really dont' think you need any of those'. ewwwwwwwww! What a jerk! As I was walking away, I reached down..grabbed a deck and went to the cashier..didn't even see what I grabbed till I got to the car! LOL It's The Art of Tarot by Liz Dean, comes with a nice little book..and the cards are very nice! I was looking for a basic Rider Waite deck..but I'm not sorry I grabbed these. The minor arcana are lacking in symbolism..but if you've learned tarot previously, I dont' think it's that big of a deal.
I brought them home, spent some time looking over all the cards, feeling them out..flipped through the book, and did some simple readings..I LOVE this deck! They just click with me. After I get used to them and get them properly 'tuned' I'll need some guinea pigs ;)
YAY..now my star tarot will have some companionship when they get here :)

Ah yes..never ever underestimate the "impulse"....I occasionally get "bitten" and have only had one or two occasions to really regret it. Odd thing is, my last "wild hair" turned out a bit oddly..I had ordered a deck I had seen and liked the artwork. I normally order an extra one, and when I showed the deck to a co-worker who is Pagan( but not a great tarot "fan" ) he fell madly in love with it. He's so happy with this deck...I guess he was meant to finally find a tarot deck he could relate to, and I was just there to "lead him into temptation..:;)
